Arcane has always been the tale of the two sisters Vi and Powder. They have been in the limelight in both seasons and had their fair share of quarrels throughout the show. No matter what, fans did not want any of the sisters to suffer in the show. However, as Jinx once mentioned, there are no good endings, right? In the war-torn Piltover in the finale of Arcane Season 2, Jinx had to make a tough decision as her sister’s life depended on it. So, based on this decision, does Jinx die in the ending of Arcane Season 2 Act 3? Let’s find out what fate had in store for our deadly but sweet Jinx.

Jinx Sacrifices Herself to Save Her Beloved Sister
The fan-favorite sister duo Powder and Vi were finally reunited again in season 2, thanks to Vander coming back in the form of Warwick. Fans were completely overjoyed with the reunion as Jinx had arrived at the scene to save her sister after Ekko saved her from ending her own life.
The bond between the sisters grew thicker than ever before and they always had each other’s backs. But a soulless Warwick, now controlled by Viktor and his arcane, was hunting his next target during the Piltover war.

Even when we are worlds apart – Powder
Jayce and Viktor saved the day by putting an end to the chaos caused by Arcane anomaly and severed the ties between everyone and the Arcane. After everyone was released, Vi and Jinx along with Warwick fell to the rubbles of the Piltover Tower. Vi could have easily stepped back to safety with Jinx’s instruction, but Warwick reminded her of the moment Vander died in her arms in the first season. While Vi was off-guard, the monster started attacking her in an attempt to finish her off.
But Jinx, with her shimmer-pumping heart, rushed to save her sister by tackling Warwick in the side. In a sudden turn of events, Jinx and Warwick were falling down to death. Luckily, Vi grabbed Jinx’s hand but Warwick still tagged along by grabbing Jinx’s leg. Jinx knew she had to let go of her sister’s hand to save her as Warwick was not giving up and the platform was collapsing.
Thus, Jinx (or maybe it was Powder, in that moment) decided to sacrifice her life by quickly taking the Hextech stone out from Vi’s gauntlet, which resulted in Vi losing the grip on her sister’s hand.

Remember the grenade Jinx used in her fight against Ekko on the bridge? She used it this time to blow herself along with Warwick. The explosion shown at the end confirms Jinx did set off the bomb, as a result, Jinx dies at the end of Arcane. She made sure to save her one and only sister by ultimately sacrificing herself in the show.
Could Jinx Have Survived Though? Many Theorists Think So
After watching the nail-biting ending of Arcane Season 2, many are sure of Jinx’s death in the end. However, the way the creators left some hints for the fans has restored people’s faith that Jinx may have survived the explosion. Let me explain in detail the theory for how Jinx might still be alive.
Well, in the moments after the war, Caitlyn can be seen scanning the blueprints of the Piltover Hex Gate tower with the Kiramman key she got from her mother earlier. She can also be seen holding a headpiece of Jinx’s monkey toy bomb in her hand. The blueprints confirmed to her that there is an air duct and a cooling system in the tower. Along with the theorists, I too believe the creators wouldn’t leave these hints for no reason, right?
Therefore, fans theorize that Jinx might have somehow escaped from the explosion via this air duct and cooling system space. To add more fuel to this theory, the final shot of Arcane includes a flying airship and has a quick “The End” card in Jinx’s signature scribbled font. These hints point to one thing and one thing only, that Jinx cheated death and is still alive at the end of Arcane.
Now, nothing about Jinx’s status has been officially confirmed. But this theory is spreading like wildfire among Arcane fans. I believe there is a probability that the creators made Jinx survive in the ending as she is still a champion in the LoL game as well as the fact that she is the “Big Fat Hero” and has unreal stardom.
