Apple Launches AppleCare+ for AirPods and Beats

apple care plus subscription

Apple has launched AppleCare+ service for AirPods, Beats earphones, and Beats headphones. This option will provide an additional warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase of AppleCare+ for $29.

AppleCare+ covers two accidental damages levying a service fee of $29. Also, you will be getting priority access to Apple experts through chat or phone to clarify your issues round the clock.

There is no clear information regarding the charging cases of AirPods and chances are, they are not covered in AppleCare+. However, the service covers batteries and USB charging cables.

You can buy AppleCare+ from their website when purchasing one of the supported products, by calling (800) 275-2273, or at an Apple Store near you within 60 days. You can’t individually buy AppleCare+ online and if you make an attempt to do so, the following message will show up: “Some products in your bag require another product to be purchased. The required product was not found so the other products were removed.”

The products covered in AppleCare+ are as follows:

  • AirPods
  • Beats EP
  • Beats Pro
  • Beats Solo3 Wireless
  • Beats Studio3 Wireless
  • BeatsX
  • Powerbeats Pro
  • Powerbeats3 Wireless

The service also covers software support regarding your pair of headphones. “Whether you’re sitting in the comfort of your home or office or on the go, you can call and get direct access to Apple experts for questions on a wide range of topics, including: Using Siri, Bluetooth connectivity”, wrote Apple in the AppleCare+ page.

It is worth noting that this new service will not provide theft or loss coverage and you will be on your own to pay for the replacement ones. However, this is indeed a must-have option for people who are a bit careless about their headphones. So, what are your thoughts on this new AppleCare+ service? Share your thoughts in the comments.
