Apex Legends Season 22 Adds Akimbo Weapons, Finally!

Apex Legends is making two of its underpowered guns worth picking up, but you will need to invest some time looking for two. Yes, it’s time to put the leaks and rumors to rest as Apex Legends Season 22 has finally added support for akimbo weapons!

Players can now dual-wield the P2020 pistol and Mozambique shotgun in Apex Legends. How does the akimbo feature work? Do you need any hop-ups to activate it? Is it powerful or not? Well, if you are curious, keep reading to find out the answers to all your questions.

Use P2020 and Mozambique in Akimbo Mode in Apex Legends

So, first of all, you don’t need any hop-up or attachment to use the two supported weapons in Akimbo mode. Simply pick up a P2020 or a Mozambique, then walk over to the second gun of the same type and pick it up to dual-wield them automatically.

Now, when you click the fire button, each gun will fire simultaneously one after the other. You can d left-click to go full-auto or right-click to hipfire the weapon. You cannot equip a scope to either of the two guns in Akimbo mode. However, the attachments you pick up for one of the weapons will be equipped to both automatically. You don’t require double the attachments in Akimbo mode.

Now, if you are wondering whether you can choose to use just one P2020 or Mozambique instead of Akimbo mode then the answer is yes. Just like you switch on/off choke in PK or choose single-fire or burst-fire in Hemlok, you can hit the Toggle Fire button. It is B on your keyboard and Left D-pad on your controller. If you stow away the second gun, your gun can now be equipped with a scope.

Instead of Kraber 360-degree no scope attempts, I’m now looking forward to some exciting Akimbo highlight reels in my feed with Apex Legends ‘Shockwave’ Season 22.

I tried out both the P2020 and Mozambique during the playtest, and I couldn’t contain my smile at the sight. It is so fun to just pull up to enemies like John Wick and spam them with Akimbo P2020s. So, are you excited to try out the Akimbo weapon feature? Tell us in the comments section below.
