Gacha games often try to adopt a serious tone, going for hard-hitting stories that, more often than not, fail to resonate with most players. However, recent releases are looking for a different approach, and Ananta stands on top of them all when it comes to goofy gameplay. A new 7-minute gameplay of Ananta has been revealed, and it includes over-the-top goofy shenanigans that may change the gacha genre forever.
Ananta Trailer Reveals GTA-Yakuza Like Goofyness
Ananta is a new gacha game developed by Naked Rain and published by Ananta. Their new gameplay trailer reveals 7 minutes of gameplay, showcasing a metropolis life set in an incredibly weird world that is very reminiscent of the popular Yakuza games, alongside a touch of GTA. Here is everything we have learned from the new trailer:
Close-Combat and Realistic Combat System
Unlike other gacha games, Ananta appears to have a more realistic approach to combat. Instead of flashing skills or ultimate abilities with a blinding visual effect, we see a more technical combat style straight out of Batman: Arkham or Marvel Spiderman games. We see the main character punching, kicking, dodging, and doing takedowns that look fantastic, and something that has been missing in the gacha genre so far.
Other than that, we also see characters using guns, snipers, flamethrowers, tasers, machine guns, and throwing grenades. One instance even shows the character using a badminton bat and a golf club as weapons!
Gacha Spiderman?
Seeing grappling hooks is not uncommon in gacha games, but swinging through the city in Spider-Man style? That’s new. The trailer shows the main character using a grappling hook sort of extension to literally swing all over the metropolis with complete freedom. The grappling hook is also useful in combat.

Character Switch-Up Straight From GTA 5
One of the highlights of the trailer was a character switching feature that GTA players would be very familiar with. Instead of the normal character and team line-up switch-up common in games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, we see a system straight out of GTA 5.
The players can switch their characters in real-time using their in-game phone, and the game shifts the PoV of the character from one area to the other, instead of simply swapping the character then and there. This creates a more realistic approach to character design and was one of the iconic features of GTA 5.

We see the main character walking down the street as the player switches to a different character. Next, we see the PoV switch to a different area of the map with the said character driving a car. All of this happens without a loading screen!
Another instance showed the main character in trouble, only for the player to switch to another character who is riding a helicopter behind him with a sniper, providing the first character backup. This is exactly what we have in GTA 5, with multiple missions even based on this very mechanic.
A Metropolis of Goofyness

The world of Anata looks vibrant and full of fun encounters. In just seven minutes, I can recount countless scenes that just look straight out of a fever dream. From NPCs walking around with garbage cans on their head, to super hero cosplayers, Ananta seems to have them all.
But from a gameplay perspective, we also see some interesting details. First, we see that players can actually play as a police officer, catching criminals. Whether this mechanic would be tied to specific characters or available in general is yet unknown.

Furthermore, we also see the main character doing a multitude of different jobs. We also see him drop-kicking into a multistory building to find a unique NPC interaction inside.
We also see Slap Battles, the “sport” that has become quite popular recently, where you have to knock out your opponent by slapping them. The characters are also seen playing basketball, golf, and so many other mini-games that only make me excited for the full game. The game will also have drivable vehicles, similar to Neverness to Everness.

First-Person PoV?
A small detail that I noticed in the trailer is that you can actually play the game in First-Person. Although we only see this while driving vehicles, if the game is taking inspiration from GTA, we can expect a PoV switch to also be available.

Dress-Up and Customization
Ananta also seems to have a massive range of character customization that has been usually locked in Gacha games behind skins. We see that players change the dress of the characters, mixing and matching freely. If this is truly a completely free option in the game, then we can expect a ton of dress-up showcases.

Anata appears to be a completely new outlook on how we perceive gacha games. So, are you excited for Ananta? Let us know in the comments.
