All Elden Ring Nightreign Events Explained

Elden Ring Nightreign is filled with multiple randomly occurring events that keep your playthroughs spicy every run. There are twelve different events, four of which bring major changes to the map and enemies near it. These events are also a great way to capitalize on getting better rewards and earning faster levels. So if you want to commit all of them to memory, here is a complete guide to all the events in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Shifting Earth Event in Elden Ring Nightreign

Shifting Earth The Crater event map Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign’s biggest attraction is the Shifting Earth events that keep the game interesting by drastically changing random map areas. These events trigger randomly, and there is no way yet to trigger them in the game manually. However, a Shifting Earth event can be removed by “Passing Time” in the waiting area. Now, let’s learn a bit more about each of these individual events.

1. The Crater

The Crater event changes a part of the map into a volcanic area. This area is packed with enemies that deal fire damage. In this event, players must reach the very bottom of the area and then defeat a Magma Wyrm to unlock a Smithing Table. This special Smithing Table can turn any weapon into their Legendary variant.

2. Rotted Woods

The Rotted Woods event is my personal favorite, even though it can appear very daunting at first. This event turns an entire area of Limveld into a rot-blighted area that passively builds up rot whenever players walk in there. Players can use the red flowers to remove the rot buildup or reach the marked location to acquire the Favor of the Rotted Woods.

This makes the player immune to Rot and increases their Max HP. Furthermore, attacks after receiving damage partially recover HP for the player. The best part about this event is that it packs four to five elite bosses very closely, making it the perfect rune farm area in day 2.

3. The Mountaintop

The Mountaintop is the third Shifting Earth event in Elden Ring Nightreign, and it changes an entire area of the map into an ice-covered mountain. This area is also filled with strong enemies and bosses, including the Snow Trolls, which are only found here. This event also has a power named Favor of the Mountain that can be obtained by climbing to the very top of the mountain. It halves the frostbite damage and frost buildup.

Furthermore, nearby frostbite boosts attack. There is also a hidden passive for this power that increases damage dealt against dragons. This is all needed to face the Mountaintop Ice Dragon boss, which can only be found here and is arguably the hardest field boss in Nightreign.

4. Noklateo, the Shrouded City

The final Shifting Earth event is Noklateo, the Shrouded City. This event requires players to reach the very end of the city by jumping up several Spiritstreams, eventually facing off Astel. After defeating Astel and taking the power of the city, the players get a free death save.

So, after getting this buff, once the player faces defeat against a boss, all the players who obtained this power can rise once from defeat to continue fighting. It basically works like a Wending Grace but without taking an item slot.

World Events and Raids in Elden Ring Nightreign

Other than the Shifting Earth event, there are plenty of other world events and raids that keep Nightreign’s gameplay interesting. Here is a quick guide for each event, so you know how to fare against it when it happens to you.

1. Fell Omen Raid

The very first raid I faced in Nightreign was the Fell Omen Raid. During this raid, the Fell Omen (or Margit) spawns on one of the players in the party and constantly follows them until defeated. The Fell Omen has limited move sets and doesn’t use all the moves from the Night Boss version of the Fell Omen.

Defeating this boss won’t drop any loot but gives a power instead. The power from the Fell Omen raid increases the Attack of the allies based on the number of active Site of Graces in Limveld.

2. Sentient Pest Raid

The Sentient Pest raid is probably the most frightening event in the game. This event summons black locusts on the players that steal ‘levels’ from them. The only way to stop this raid is to follow the Black Locusts to find and defeat the Sentient Pest.

The lost levels are returned after defeating the Pest, and players are also rewarded with a power that increases Rune acquisition from enemies based on the number of attacks.

3. Augur Raid

The Augur Raid is similar to the Fell Omen and Sentient Pest raids. During this event, a bubble will appear in front of you, sucking you into it. Inside, you will have to fight the Augur boss, which is a lesser version of the Maris Night Lord and doesn’t feature its sleep-inducing attacks. After defeating Augur, players will get a power that makes restoring HP from flask also restore FP.

4. Meteor Strike

Occasionally, you may see a prompt that a meteor has struck Limveld. Opening the map, you will see a new red marker that marks the meteorite’s location. On reaching the location, you will come face to face with a Fallingstar Beast. Defeating the Fallingstar beast will complete the event and reward confirmed Epic rarity loot.

5. Cataclysm

The Cataclysm events happen randomly at the start of an expedition. This even targets Great Churches, Ruins, Forts, or Camps with a miasma that increases the health and damage of all the enemies in that area.

Furthermore, the cataclysm also summons Night Raiders, who are basically NPC invaders based on the different character classes added to the game. Defeating the Night Raider, or Raiders, will make them drop the enhanced version of their base weapons.

6. Double Bosses

The Double Boss event only randomly occurs during the Night Boss fights. After defeating a Night Lord, a message can appear that mentions “the Night threatens us anew.” This message will be followed by another boss summon that you must defeat to complete the night.

One good thing about this event is that your flask charges are restored after defeating the first boss, keeping you prepared for fighting the second boss. Also, you get double the boss rewards and runes, so it is a pretty good trade.

7. Old Gaol

When opening Evergaols, they can be transformed into an Old Gaol. When this happens, instead of summoning one of the normal Evergaol bosses, one of the elite field bosses will be summoned. This event summoned the Death Rite Bird for me, which was one difficult fight for our level. After defeating the boss, the rewards are also greatly increased.

8. Walking Mausoleum

The final event that we know of in Elden Ring Nightreign is the Walking Mausoleum. This elusive event has a tiny chance of occurring. It summons a walking mausoleum in one of the random areas of Limveld and there is only a red mark indicating the location. After hitting the Walking Mausoleum’s legs to make it fall, you can duplicate any of your weapons, including Legendary weapons.

So, these are all the events in Elden Ring Nightreign. Have any doubts about the events? Tell us in the comment section below.
