Elden Ring Nightreign may have a bite-sized storyline, but it is still brimming with all the flavors this genre has offered in the past. Every Nightfarer has their unique storyline and some lead to hidden endings with very unexpected outcomes. What’s best about Nightreign is that you don’t need to play multiple 100+ hours of playthroughs to experience all the endings the game has to offer. However, if you want to skip the grind or simply didn’t understand what happened, here are all the Elden Ring Nightreign endings explained to help you out.
Elden Ring Nightreign Normal Ending
The normal ending of Elden Ring Nightreign can be simply achieved by defeating Heolstor the Nightlord after unlocking the Night Aspect expedition. This ending does not require you to complete character remembrances or defeat all the other Nightlords.

After defeating Heolstor, you will get the Primordial Nightlord Rune. This rune was safeguarded by the cutting-tribe people who envisioned the coming of night and wanted to preserve it, challenging the gods of the Lands Between. Thus, this rune was lodged into the Nightlord, allowing him to bring the age of darkness.

With this rune in hand, you will return to the Roundtable Hold and find a corpse at the entry point of the expeditions in Limveld. Touch the corpse and offer the Nightlord’s Rune to get the normal ending.
In the normal Nightreign ending, we see the corpse destroying the Primordial Nightlord’s Rune and then find the Nightfarers slowly dissipating in strands of grace. The destruction of the Primordial Nightlord’s Rune signifies the end of the night, and the Nightfarer turning into strands of grace likely depicts their freedom from the night and their return to the Erdtree.

Elden Ring Nightreign Secret/True Ending
The True Ending in Elden Ring Nightreign can only be achieved by completing the Remembrance of the characters and using them to defeat Heolstor the Nightlord. Whether you must equip the Remembrance skin of the character to get the true ending is unclear, so wear it before the fight just in case you need it.
After defeating the final boss, the same sequence of events will occur as the Normal Ending, excluding Recluse and Wylder, who have secret endings, and Ironeye, who gets a unique choice. After the Normal Ending finishes, the credits will start rolling. Wait for the credits to end or skip them to see Elden Ring Nightreign’s secret ending.
In this true ending, we see the Erdtree standing tall in all its glory as the strands of grace continue to travel with the wind. One such strand of grace lands on a tree, slowly rising and revealing itself as a Giant Tree Man. This tree takes a final look at the Erdtree, then turns away and continues in the opposite direction.

The true ending of Elden Ring Nightreign can mean many different things, so my explanation of it may not be completely accurate. Previously, I assumed that the tree rising from the ocean and turning away depicts the ‘Night’ leaving the Lands Between. But, on closer inspection, I realized that it might not be true.
During this ending, we see a strand of grace land on the tree, which brings it to life. This makes me believe that the strand of grace from the Erdtree breathed life into the tree. There is a possibility that one of the Nightfarers now hosts the tree and it is leaving to the outside world. Another explanation can be that the Erdtree was keeping the tree imprisoned and it has finally broken free from its clutches.
However, I think the best explanation is that the Erdtree is ‘spreading its seeds’ with the new tree-like being. So, the tree man is just a vessel to carry the seed of the Erdtree to another land where it can establish its authority, basically reproducing the way trees do in real life.
Elden Ring Nightreign Wylder Secret Ending
Wylder is the poster boy of Elden Ring Nightreign, so it is no surprise that he gets a secret ending that is entirely separate from the normal and true endings. After completing the Wylder Remembrance, you must defeat the Heolstor the Nightlord using him. Once the fight ends, you will find yourself back in the Roundtable Hold, like the earlier endings. However, the big difference this time would be the Nightlord’s body waiting near you.

Take Wylder to the Nightlord’s body and interact with it to get the Wylder secret ending. In this ending, Wylder uses the Silver Tear, which is the same as the Larval Tear from Elden Ring, to recreate himself as the Nightlord. This starts a new cycle of the night, keeping the Roundtable Hold intact, awaiting another group of heroes to defeat the Night. Keeping the Roundtable Hold intact also keeps the Priestess alive, which is what Wylder desired from the beginning.

Elden Ring Nightreign Recluse Secret Ending
Recluse is another character that gets a separate secret ending if you defeat Hoelstor after finishing her Remembrance. Like the other endings, Recluse is also transferred to the Roundtable hold after defeating the Nightlord. However, instead of going to the corpse or the Nightlord’s body, Recluse will have to head to the Waiting Room. Here she finds a baby crying, whom she must pick up to complete her story.

Recluse’s Remembrance reveals a shocking secret in Nightreign. It is revealed that she birthed the Nightlord, which eventually brought the night to the Lands Between. So, after she defeats Hoelstor with her remembrance completed, Recluse either goes back in time or her memories, and this time she kills the Nightlord right after his birth. This way, Recluse redeems herself of her mistake and prevents the age of night from coming to the Lands Between.
Elden Ring Nightreign Ironeye Secret Ending
Ironeye also gets a secret ending in Elden Ring Nightreign, and it may be darker than Wylder’s ending. To trigger this secret ending, you must complete Ironeye’s Remembrance and then defeat Hoelstor. After defeating the Nightlord, Ironeye will be teleported to the Roundtable Hold.
Now, you must find and touch the corpse like the normal and true ending. However, unlike others, Ironeye gets a new option to “Clench your dagger” alongside the option to give it the Nightlord’s rune.

Selecting the Clench Your Dagger option starts Ironeye’s secret ending, while picking the other options continues the Normal Ending. In the secret ending of Ironeye, he uses the dagger to slit open the throat of the corpse. After doing that, he turns away and states, “The Night…is far from over.”
The Ironeye keeping the age of night is likely due to his assassination roots. While the Erdtree was around, there was no death in the Lands Between as Malekith kept the power of death only to himself. With the Night consuming the Erdtree, it finally became possible to perform the assassination.

Elden Ring Nightreign Character Specific Remembrance Endings
Other than the endings mentioned above, all the other character remembrances get their personal story ending before defeating the Nightlord. After defeating the Nightlord after their remembrance, the other Nightfarers can get the true Ending. However, they don’t have a secret ending like Recluse, Wylder, and Ironeye. So, let’s take a quick look at each of the other characters’ remembrance endings in Nightreign:
- Duchess: She chooses to safeguard Wylder’s life even after the Roundtable Hold gets destroyed once the Nightlord is defeated. She uses the help of the Iron Menial to connect Wylder’s life to the outside world by blessing the object that Wylder keeps on himself.
- Guardian: He finally finds that the Recluse created the weapon used to destroy his Flock kin in the Lands Between. Knowing this, the Guardian still chooses to forgive the Recluse to defeat the Nightlord.
- Raider: After countless tournament-style battles, the Raider finally fights the White Horn and defeats him, ending their long-running rivalry.
- Revenant: Revenant finally realizes that she was the doll, not the girl (Chloe) killed when the night descended on her manor. The doll that witnessed Chloe’s death was brought to life as the Revenant to bring revenge for her death.
- Executor: He was a Crucible Knight who killed a young lady or couldn’t save her from other Crucible Knights. In whatever case, he performs seppuku at the end, only to return as the executor in Roundtable Hold. Executor’s memory held the image of the Erdtree, which was used to bring warmth back to the Roundtable Hold by the Priestess.
