Bundled voice and data tariff plans are becoming increasingly popular nowadays, especially with nearly all telecom operators launching different vouches at varied price points. In a bid to further strengthen its portfolio of bundled recharge plans, Airtel has today announced a new prepaid tariff plan that offers ‘truly unlimited’ voice calls and data benefits for a span of 6 months.

The new recharge plan by Airtel costs Rs. 995, and for that sum, it offers you the benefit of unlimited local, as well as STD voice calls, for 180 days. Airtel is not imposing an upper limit on voice call minutes with this new tariff, which is a huge relief from the FUP cap associated with other recharge plans.

Aside from free network roaming, the new recharge plan also offers the 1GB of 3G/4G data per month, which is quite low for a tariff that costs as much. Moreover, the half-yearly plan will let Airtel subscribers send out a maximum 100 SMS on a daily basis. Airtel’s new will be available to users in the Delhi NCR, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and other major telecom circles.

Airtel’s new tariff plans are undoubtedly targeted at subscribers with heavy voice calling requirements, however, the meager 1GB of monthly data services is a major limitation. Users are better off with the company’s older Rs. 448 and Rs. 499 plans (prices may vary in different circles), which come with a validity of about 3 months and offer unlimited voice calls and 1GB of data per day.

Moreover, the new Rs. 995 recharge pack competes directly with Airtel’s Rs. 999 plan, which provides unlimited voice calls, 60GB 3G/ 4G data and 100 daily SMS with a validity of 90 days. Even though the validity period is half than that of the Rs. 995 plan, offers a much better value, unless making a lot of voice calls is your major priority, in which case Airtel’s latest recharge plan is your best bet.
