Most fans haven’t seen any other screen adaptation of a video game getting as popular as Arcane. Well, I’m not saying there aren’t any good video game adaptations, but yes, Arcane is definitely something of the next level. Based on the League of Legends characters, the first season of the animated show was released three years ago and created history. The cinematography and the animation style raised the bar too high for the fanatics. Now that fans know the story of Vi and Jinx is about to get closure in Arcane Season 2, it’s evident for them to wonder if this is it for the League of Legends lore or if there’s more coming their way.
Is Arcane Season 2 The End of the League of Legends Story?
Fortunately, no, Arcane Season 2 will not be the ultimate finale of the League of Legends narrative. Speaking in an interview with Screenrant, Arcane’s co-creator Christian Linke revealed that the fun has just begun. Arcane is just the beginning, as there are so many characters that the creators are looking forward to giving a screen makeover. In fact, they have already started working on projects involving characters from the popular franchise. To be precise, Arcane will end with Season 2, but the creators will come up with another show, possibly with a different title, to tell another story from the LoL lore.
Arcane follows two sisters named Vi and Powder (Jinx) and allows us to witness the complexities between the sister duo. In the first season, Vi gets captured by the authorities, and Powder remains behind, believing that her elder sister has abandoned her. She grows up with all the hatred for Vi in her heart. Powder becomes so obsessed with her negative side that she changes her childhood name and adapts ‘Jinx’ as that’s what her sister called her for the last time before their separation.
The fight that began in the concluding moments of Season 1 will finally end in the next season. And to be honest, it would be best to end the show without dragging the story unnecessarily. However, we don’t have to worry; this is just the end of Vi and Powder’s story and not the end of the League of Legends story.
League of Legends Universe Is Huge
League of Legends is one of the biggest video games ever released; it’s no wonder it has a massive following in the Esports scene. The game arrived with 17 champions in 2009; until now, it has blessed the gaming community with 169 champions. For the unacquainted, champions are the characters a player gets hold of in the game. Each champion possesses unique abilities that make them a crucial part of the massive game.
Vi, Powder, and every other character from the LOL Universe who made it to Arcane are just a minor part of the IP, as there are so many characters who deserve their own screen adaptation. In fact, Arcane’s characters, including Jayce Viktor, Ambessa Medarda, and more, can win millions of hearts with their own story. But it’s hard to say that they will be the main focus of the next LoL TV project. Instead, we might see a different set of characters from the LoL lore, but the story will connect to the events that occurred in Arcane.
