Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 is right around the corner with November swiftly approaching. With that being said, we all know that part 1 of Yellowstone Season 5 marked a new record in viewership with its first episode, and the same is expected with the release of the next installment. However, there is a hurdle that appeared with Kevin Costner’s exit from the franchise. Along with this hurdle, a new exciting revelation was made telling us that Josh Lucas is set to return in Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 as young John Dutton.
Josh Lucas Confirmed His Yellowstone Season 5 Comeback at a Red Carpet Event
Josh Lucas starred in Apple TV+’s Palm Royale, a comedy-drama series, and was present at the red carpet event for the same. According to a report made by Deadline, he confirmed to the reporters that he is going to appear in Yellowstone Season 5 part 2 stating that he is coming back to the series as Young John Dutton.
“I did text Taylor a couple of months back and said, ‘Hey man, I’ve loved working on the show so much’. He’s like, ‘well we’ll be back’, I think we’re going to do ten or so more episodes and wrap up the story.” – Josh Lucas
The actor also expressed how much he loved working in Yellowstone expressing his fondness for the landscape of Montana and how he felt riding horses and shooting in that location.
“Obviously it is… incredible to be out there on those horses and that amazing territory. I love doing that job.” – Josh Lucas
The production of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 was massively delayed because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which was also one of the many reasons Kevin Costner decided to leave Yellowstone.
Season 5 part 2 will be released two years after Part 1 and now that Kevin Costner is no more a part of the cast of Yellowstone. It would be interesting to see how Josh Lucas’s version of a young him will come about. He will probably appear mostly in flashbacks but as of now, we don’t know how they are going to write him out of the story.
