How to Eat Slices of Birthday Cake Found at Named Locations in Fortnite

Unlike Birthday Presents in Fortnite, Birthday Cake cannot be picked up and added to your inventory. These consumable items are foraged and consumed on the spot. To eat slices of Birthday Cake found at named locations in Fortnite, visit a POI that houses the Birthday Cake Slice. In Fortnite Battle Royale, you can visit the Wonkeeland POI, and in OG mode, you can visit the Junk Junction to easily locate a Birthday Cake Slice.

Once you spot a Birthday Cake in a Fortnite match at a marked named location, walk closer to the cake, and you’ll see a slice on the ground. Walk closer to the Birthday Cake Slice and press the “Consume” key (F on keyboard / X on Xbox / Square on PlayStation) when looking directly at the item.

Upon being consumed, a Birthday Cake Slice in Fortnite restores 10 health and 10 shields. Unlike Small Shield Potions and Bandages, this item can restore full HP and shields when consumed multiple times, making it very useful in the early game. You can stockpile other consumables to use later on during the match.

Lastly, as part of the ninth anniversary, there are Fortnite Birthday Quests that task you with consuming cake. Completing these quests grants you freebies as well as 5,000 XP each, which can help you progress along your Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass.
