Call of Duty Warzone Clash LTM Explained

Warzone Season 4 is bringing some significant new features to the battle royale. The highlights include the new Overlook POI sitting at the heart of Downtown Verdansk, and the returning Clash LTM. Previously seen in Black Ops Cold War, Clash offers a condensed version of the Warzone experience, complete with its own scoring system, power-ups, in-game events, and more. For players eager to learn more about the mode, here’s everything you need to know about the Clash LTM in Warzone.

Warzone Season 4 Clash LTM Explained

The Clash LTM in Warzone is essentially a mash of Team Deathmatch and Domination, set within specific sections of Verdansk, and with two teams of 52 players each. It was initially rolled out as a revamped version of ‘Rumble’ from the OG Warzone days, and now includes some impressive, game-changing equipment and power-ups that are exclusive to the game mode.

The action takes place in and around a Verdansk POI. And the locations available in Season 4 include Quarry, Farmland, Boneyard, and Promenade (East). Once players are placed into teams of 52 (13 quad squads per team), they’re unleashed into this compact area and tasked with racking up the kill count. There is no Circle Collapse, no last stand benefit from the Survivor Perk, and player loadouts are available immediately.

The team that accumulates 500 points by the end of the 15-minute time limit wins. However, points aren’t just earned from eliminating enemies. You’ll also need to complete contracts and in-game events. Here’s a look at the scoring system:

  • 1 point per enemy elimination
  • 2 points per enemy elimination with Double Down Power Up
  • 5 points per Contract completed
  • 10 points for capturing a Domination Point (Flag)
  • 10 points for capturing a Bonus Crate or a Cash Crate

Warzone Clash LTM Gameplay Features

Regarding gameplay features, the Clash mode offers three different kinds of contracts, five in-game events, and five power-ups. The contracts include Scavenger, Recon, and Search and Destroy. While the former two have been in the battle royale mode for years, Search and Destroy will be exclusive to Clash before being added to the BR via a mid-season update.

In-game Events

As for the in-game events, these special modifiers are timed throughout the match, adding unique objectives for players to complete or providing excellent opportunities to gather high-tier loot. Here’s an overview of them all:

  • Domination Points Event:  Up to three single-capture Domination Points (flags) appear on the map, and these respawn throughout the match. The team that reaches and captures one of the Dom Points receives a reward.
  • Bonus Points Crates Event: A cargo plane flies across the center of the map, and up to four crates are dropped. Teams are likely to head to the crates as they float to the ground, as capturing a crate awards you with 10 team points.
  • Clash Firesale Event: Lasting for two minutes, all players can take advantage of a Firesale as two Portable Buy Stations are dropped into the backfield of each team (a total of four). Additionally, all loot crates are restocked, and cash found in crates increases.
  • Cash Crates: Capture one (or more) of the three Cash Crates that drop during this event to earn 10 team points.
  • Power Surge Event: For two minutes, there’s an increased drop rate of Power Ups when you dispatch an enemy player or loot any ground caches.

Power-ups

The game mode also comes with five power-ups. These come in different colors and offer temporary benefits to the player who grabs them. It’s possible to obtain all five power-ups in a single match, and you can find them as ground loot or dropped loot near the body of an eliminated enemy. Listed below are five power-ups and their benefits:

  • Hunter (Red): Highlights enemies and allies in red and blue, respectively. Allies are visible through walls. Applies Tracker and High Alert Perks.
  • Speed Boost (Yellow): Prevents fall damage and provides an approximately 20 percent speed boost to your movement.
  • Regeneration Aura (Green): Refills your health and armor at roughly 20 percent per second. Allies within a small radius around you also receive this benefit. The effect does not stack.
  • Double Down (Blue): Grants you two points per enemy Operator elimination instead of one.
  • Kill Mag (Purple): Refills your active weapon magazine after a kill and quickens your reload.

Exclusive Features

Beyond these items, Clash will have five distinct features exclusive to the mode at launch. Two of these will eventually be added to BR, Plunder, and other modes, while the rest will remain solely in Clash for now. Here’s a rundown of all five:

  • Door Barricade Field Upgrade: The Field Upgrade will let you use a lockable barrier to block single or double doors. It will be exclusive to Clash at launch before joining other game modes via a mid-season update.
  • Hand Cannon Killstreak: This high-powered pistol Killstreak, initially available in Multiplayer during Season 01, can be found in ground caches as rare loot. Expect a slow rate of fire and finite ammunition, but good handling, and improved hip fire accuracy with faster hip-fire shooting speed. It will join other game modes via a mid-season update.
  • SAM Turrets:  Spend $1,500 of in-match cash to activate these anti-air missile batteries and use them up to four times to target any aircraft and drones in the area.
  • Train: If a Clash map features a portion of the large, circular railroad track that the train travels along, then this hulking engine and loot-filled carriages are parked and available to use as added cover and looting opportunities.
  • UAV Towers: Activated using $2,000 in-game cash, UAV Towers can be captured and used to pinpoint enemy movement across the local area.
