  • Jotun Invasion can be completed by destroying the Malicious Ice in the marked location on the map.

Deep North added many new things in the Valheim 1.0 update, but one of its core features is the Jotun Invasion. This is the new mechanic that adds invasions of enemies from the Morkhalla to the rest of the biomes in Valheim. Completing this event is very important, as it opens the way to summon Kall Fimbulbringer in Valheim. Here is a full guide for the Valheim Deep North Jotun Invasion.

How to Start the Jotun Invasion in Valheim Deep North

Unlike most of the other invasions or events in Valheim, the Jotun Invasion is not random. This event requires players to complete the Morkhalla dungeon in the Deep North. After entering the Morkhalla dungeon, players have to find the Malicious Ice at the centre and destroy it.

Malicious Ice Valheim

Doing so will start a Jotun Invasion in a random location on the map. The Jotun Invasion is not limited to the Deep North biome, as it can occur anywhere on the map. However, you do need to start it from the Deep North, as mentioned here.

One thing to note is that players can only enter the Morkhalla dungeon by using an Intricate key in Valheim. To use the Intricate key, players have to craft it using its mould and the Frost Foundry. The mould can be obtained by defeating the Elaking creatures of Valheim.

How to Complete the Jotun Invasion in Valheim

After the Jotun Invasion is marked on the map, players have to head over there to complete the event. At one point, only three Jotun Invasions can be active at a time. So, you will need to complete them before you can start more. Now, after you reach the Jotun Invasion location, you will find a massive ice structure sprouting from the ground.

Around the Malicious Ice, you will find Hexens and Krigen, which can also be found inside the Morkhalla. This Malicious Ice will infinitely summon these monsters as you keep defeating them, so it can be a great way to farm their materials. To complete the Jotun Invasion, simply break the Malicious Ice. Doing that will stop the monsters from spawning.

Why Do the Jotun Invasion Event in Valheim Deep North

Completing the Jotun Invasion event will award players with Malicious blood. This is the main summoning material for the Kall Fimbulbringer boss fight in Valheim. You will need three of this material to summon the final Valheim boss.

Other than that, the Jotun Invasions are also a great way to farm the materials from Krigen and Hexen. These two enemies mostly only spawn inside Morkhalla, which is not a very forgiving location. Players can create a base near the invasion and simply visit it to farm their materials.

So, that’s it. Now you know what the Jotun Invasion does and how to complete it in Valheim Deep North. Have any more questions? Ask us in the comments section below.
