Epic Games has announced a new program called ‘Support-A-Creator Event’ which allows Fortnite content creators on all platforms to earn money. As part of the event, fans and followers of a creator can support them by spending V-bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency.
Epic Games’ Support-A-Creator Event is now live and will continue till December 31st. Creators who want to receive support from followers will have to register for the event first and fulfill certain criteria.
All Fortnite content creators, which include video makers, streamers, cosplayers, musicians, storytellers, community builders, etc. can participate in the event, irrespective of the platform their content is available on. As for the eligibility criteria for the Support-A-Creator-Event, the creator must have regularly published content for the past 30 days and has more than 1,000 followers, aside from agreeing with certain policies.
The Support-A-Creator-Event is available in all regions except China, Iran, North Korea or any other region which Epic Games’ policies restrict, but there is no language barrier and limitation regarding the kind of content one creates.
How Can Followers Support Creators?
In order to support their favorite creator, followers must go to the Loot tab in Save the World or Item Shop in Battle Royale and tap on the ‘Support a Creator’ button. Once it is done, one has to enter the creator’s Epic tag (which is also Epic ID or display name of the creator) and support them by spending V-Bucks in the game which can be redeemed in the form of real money by creators.
For every 10,000 V-Bucks spent by players, the creator will receive a sum of $5 or the equivalent amount in their local currency. Fans can choose to support only one creator at a time, however, they can choose to support a different creator after a period of 14 days.
