Note: Some of the announcements here might contain spoilers. So we suggest you proceed with caution.

1. God of War Ragnarok Finally Gets a Trailer

After waiting for so long, Sony has finally released a trailer for the upcoming sequel to the God of War reboot called Ragnarok. The three-minute trailer picks up a few years after the last God of War ended and gives Kratos the toughest challenge he has faced yet; raising a teenager. Atreus (or now Loki) wants to get out into the world and find answers on how to stop Ragnarok.

However, Kratos, like the overprotective father he is, will not have any of it and forbids his son, fearing a fight with the gods. The reveal trailer shows the journey of the trio of Kratos, Loki and Mimir make to find Tyr, the old God of War, for some answers. Furthermore, we also see some next addition to combat mechanics, new characters, and more excitingly new enemies, including an entry by Freya trying to avenge her son Baldur. To see all that and more, check out the trailer for what is possibly the best announcement from the Sony PlayStation Showcase 2021. God of War Ragnarok might release in 2022.

2. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Announced; Brings Venom to PS5

Insomniac Games, the developer behind the ever-popular Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank, is coming out with a fresh Spider-Man game. Titled Spider-Man 2, we only got a short yet exciting one-minute trailer for this game, which shows Peter Parker and Miles Morales from previous games coming back to fight enemies. However, it is towards the end of the trailer that we see Venom hiding in the shadows.

While we only see a glimpse of the terrifying foe, it is enough to spell trouble for both the main characters. No gameplay for Spider-Man 2 has been shared as of now, with the footage just being cinematic. However, if previous Spider-Man games are anything to go by, you can expect the gameplay to be every bit exciting as the trailer itself. Spider-Man 2 has a release date for sometime in 2023 and will be a PS5 exclusive release. Check out the short trailer and see for yourself.

3. Forespoken Has a Magical Trailer

Definitely one of the most exciting additions to the PS5 roster, Forespoken is an action-adventure game set in fantasy land. The story focuses on Frey Holland, a woman trying to move away from New York City to start a life with her cat. However, before that happens, Frey is transported into a beautiful yet mysterious land that is not quite on Earth. Aided by a bracelet that supposedly gives her powers, the three-minute trailer shows Frey traversing this magical land while battling various enemies, including giant dragons.

There is a big overtone of fantasy and magic as we see Frey deploying various powers using her mind and even almost flying at one point in the trailer. However, the real challenge lies in her fight against Tanta Sila, the antagonist plaguing the land. One for the fantasy lovers, Forespoken, was an interesting announcement during the PlayStation Showcase 2021. The game drops somewhere around Spring 2022.

4. More Gameplay for Ghostwire Tokyo

Ghostwire Tokyo has another exciting new trailer with more combat mixed in for good measure. With Tokyo overrun by deadly supernatural forces, you must ally yourself with a powerful spectral entity on their quest for vengeance and battle your way through all the enemies you see. The crux reveals itself when the fight goes against Hannya, the main occultist behind all this. Ghostwire Tokyo dives deep into Japanese urban legends and folklore and gives gamers a taste of what just might be hiding under their bed.

The new trailer shows some pretty incredible moves as the main character fights his way through paranormal forces. There are natural story elements involved as we see Mari, a person important to the main character. If you like dark spooky stuff, then do check out the new trailer for Ghostwire Tokyo announced at PlayStation Showcase 2021. It releases around Spring 2022.

5. Gran Turismo 7 Trailer

Showing off a massive amount of cars on the racetrack and beyond, Gran Turismo 7 looks like a game that will be chock full of opportunity. 6. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Speaking of next-gen announcements when it comes to the PlayStation Showcase, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is getting a PS5 remake itself. Being developed by Aspyr, the developers behind previous Star Wars work on iOS and Android platforms, the Knights of the Old Republic is being made especially for the PlayStation 5. The game also has help from Lucasfilm Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The short one-minute trailer shows as much when it displays some cinematic footage with a powerful Sith wielding his lightsaber. The Old Republic is touted by many to be one of the best Star Wars games ever made, so a remake no doubt is opportune. The new Knights of the Old Republic will be a PS5 exclusive when it launches. While there is no release date for it right now, expect more news soon.

7. Uncharted Remastered; Coming to PC

This announcement from the PlayStation Showcase 2021 is also something PC gamers can look forward to. Remasters of Uncharted: A Thief’s End and Uncharted The Lost Legacy will soon be coming to the PlayStation 5, and well, in a happily accepted move, to PC. Titled the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, the remaster will cover the most recently released two games and touch them up for next-gen before dropping on both platforms.

In the one-minute trailer displays footage from both games, we see Nathan Drake and other main characters undertaking their journeys. We don’t know about you, but we have been looking forward to playing Uncharted for some time, and this is nothing if not good news. The Legacy of Thieves Collection will first release in early 2022 for the PS5, and PC will follow soon after. Check out the trailer above and get your adventure outfit ready.

8. Marvel’s Wolverine

While you can be plenty excited for Spider-Man 2 itself, Insomniac Games isn’t done yet. A new Wolverine game is on the horizon, with Sony dropping a short teaser for it. We see a completely trashed bar with people lying everywhere except a single guy. He’s reaching for his drink while a man barely stands up behind to stab him. And how do we know the only guy still in shape is Wolverine?

He unfurls his Adamantium claws at the last second. While this teaser is not based on gameplay, the upcoming Wolverine game certainly looks very exciting. While there is no release date yet, we can expect more info as time passes. Until then, check out the short teaser shown at PlayStation Showcase and tell us what you think.

The game has a unique free climbing mechanic that will let plays ascend anything in the massive open world. If you are a gamer looking for something lighthearted and different to play, go check out Tchia. It releases in 2022 and is coming for PS4, PS5, and PC through the Epic Games Store.

For those not yet blessed with playing Alan Wake, the game focuses on the writer of the same name who is suffering from writer’s block. Persisted and accompanied by his wife Alice, Alan travels to the sleepy yet beautiful town of Bright Falls to take a much-needed vacation and maybe bring back his creative juices.

However, something sinister is going on here in this town, and its effect takes Alice away as a story Alan doesn’t even remember writing starts to come true. Focused on the ever-popular battle of light vs dark, Alan Wake is a game that will have you carrying a flashlight even with the power on.
