After officially unveiling it for global markets last week, Sony has now launched the DSC-WX800 super-zoom camera in India.
It comes with a compact form-factor and features an 18.2MP 1/2.3 type (7.82mm) Exmor R CMOS sensor accompanied by a built-in ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens that offers a versatile zoom range from 24mm at the wide end up to 720mm super-telephoto. For noise reduction, the camera offers an ISO range from 100 to 12800.
The DSC-WX800 comes with an MRP of Rs. 34,990 in India, and is available at all Sony Center, Alpha Flagship stores and major electronic stores across the country.
The WX800 comes with the BIONZ X image processing engine combined with a front-end LSI that delivers high-speed continuous shooting at up to 10 fps with a buffer limit of up to 155 images. Furthermore, it offers a fast AF intelligent auto-focus with a speed of just 0.09 seconds. The camera is capable of shooting videos in 4K with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.
The DSC-WX800 features an 180-degree tiltable LCD touchscreen for easy framing of selfie shots, and comes with Optical SteadyShot technology for stable, blur-free telephoto shooting. The camera is also equipped with a Zoom Assist function that allows the user to zoom out temporarily and displays a wider area when shooting a subject at the telephoto end. Sony also says that it has embraced feedback from users and implemented Touch Focus and Touch Shutter functionalities on the WX800.
