Oppo R17 Pro Is Official: Tiny Notch, Triple Camera With SuperVOOC Fast Charging

After much anticipation, Oppo has finally made the Oppo R17 Pro official, and the device certainly packs in a punch. While many expected that the Oppo Find X would be the first in many of the devices to come with a full-screen display and no notch, Oppo seems to have gone with the notched-design on the R17 Pro. However, it is probably one of the best-looking notches out there.

The Oppo R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels along with a waterdrop-style notch which was introduced with the F9/F9 Pro. As for protection, the panel is protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 6 from Corning, and the slim bezels offer a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%.

As for the hardware, the Oppo R17 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset which debuted with the Mi 8 SE and packs 8GB of RAM and a whopping 128GB of internal storage. The device packs in all of the sensors you’d expect from a device of this price, along with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

For the photography enthusiasts out there, the Oppo R17 Pro packs a 25MP f/2.0 on the notch at the front, that should work pretty well for selfies, along with Oppo’s camera AI. However, it’s the rear side where things actually get interesting. The Oppo R17 Pro packs in a triple camera setup on the back, similar to the Huawei P20 Pro. The device packs in a 12MP + 20MP + TOF 3D stereo camera, offering an aperture of F1.5/F2.4+F2.6.

This entire package is backed by a 3,700 mAh battery, which is split into two halves of 1,850 mAh each. The main reason behind this is that it enables the 50W SuperVOOC charging technology which promises 40% charge in 10 minutes with the provided charger.

The Oppo R17 Pro is live on Oppo’s website and is expected to go on sale in mid-October, for a price of ¥4299.00 (Rs. 44,000).
