With OnePlus’ latest set of smartphones, the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, already running Android 9 Pie for the past couple of months, the community had insistently been on the company’s tail about that piece of Pie for the last year’s flagships – the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

Well, it appears as though the company had been closely listening to your demands and has today rolled out Android 9 Pie for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T with the OxygenOS Open Beta builds 22 and 20 respectively. The update size is around 1.7GB, so it’ll surely take some time to download and install.

With the latest software update being based on Android 9 Pie, you can expect the duo of OnePlus smartphones to offer you the same features and capabilities as its successors. It will not only offer you a snappy and pure stock experience but the existing customization options as well.

You will finally get a taste of the new Android 9 Pie UI, gesture navigation — but only on OnePlus 5T, the AI-powered Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness feature, and a lot more. This new OxygenOS Open Beta build brings along the November security patch as well.
