Today’s Connections Answers for August 10, 2025
The answers for Connections today are:
- AMASS: CLUSTER, COLLECT, CONCENTRATE, GROUP
- INFLUENCE: JUICE, PULL, SWAY, WEIGHT
- KINDS OF FICTION: FAN, HISTORICAL, PULP, SCIENCE
- STARTING WITH MATH AND SCIENCE CLASSES, FOR SHORT: BIOPIC, CALCIUM, CHEMISE, TRIGLYCERIDE

In today’s NYT Connections, I managed to solve the blue category first, given the movie nerd I am. I straight away guessed FAN, HISTORICAL, PULP, and SCIENCE as types of fiction. The next one I guessed correctly in one go was the green category.
However, the yellow and purple categories left me guessing for some time. I kept trying to make a connection between words like JUICE, PULL, WEIGHT, and TRIGLYCERIDE as gym terms. Only to solve the yellow category correctly at the end.

How to Play Connections: Best Tips & Tricks
Given the fact that you’re here, chances are that you already know how to play NYT Connections. As you might be able to tell by now, The New York Times Connections is a word association game where players sort out 16 random words into four categories by finding a common ‘connection.’
That said, if you’re still confused, here are the best tips on how to play NYT Connections:
- Simplicity is key: Connections will often use ambiguous words. While it’s easy to get caught up in the details, the answer almost always lies in the simplest connections possible. So, instead of “dear” and “deer” being connected through a hunter-prey dynamic, they most likely connect because of a similar sound.
- Watch those guesses: A key thing to note is that Connections only gives you four chances in 24 hours for a single puzzle. As such, we advise not being trigger-happy and carefully weighing in your words before pressing that submit button.
- Shuffle Away: Although a bit tricky, the sneaky Connections editor deliberately places the first word as a misdirection. The one golden tip here is to press that Shuffle button before you try solving it.
