Nokia’s comeback in the smartphone space after its failed partnership with Microsoft has been quite the run. Along with capturing a significant chunk of the market, the company has built a great reputation when it comes to user experience and speedy updates. At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, HMD Global’s brand dominated social media despite competition from major players like Samsung, LG, Sony, and Huawei.
The company has had a decent show in the Indian market as well and with its latest move, it’s planning to take things up a notch. The company has officially launched its online shopping portal in the country and prospective buyers will now be able to purchase Nokia phones and accessories straight from the company. The company is offering free shipping on all purchases along with a 10-day return policy on products bought from the official online store.
While the online shop currently lists all the devices that have already been in the market for a while, Nokia is expected to start launching its MWC lineup on the store starting next month. The new Nokia 1 is expected to go on sale first, followed by the updated Nokia 6 in May or June.
The Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco, both of which are part of the Android One program, will also be released in the first half of 2018. Among these, the Nokia 7 Plus has already been launched in China and at a competitive price tag that could see it make a killing in the mid-range segment.
