Several months after unveiling the Nokia 9 PureView at MWC Barcelona, HMD Global is finally looking to bring the device to India. The Nokia Mobile India Twitter handle (@NokiamobileIN) on Thursday started teasing the launch of the much-awaited phone with a 24-second video that advertises ‘ultimate focal length control’ on the penta-cam device. The tweet doesn’t reveal either the launch date or any pricing info, but it comes with a $699 (around Rs. 49,000) price-tag in the US, which might give an idea about how much it will cost in India.

To recall, the Nokia 9 PureView is HMD’s latest flagship smartphone, and comes with an all-glass sandwich design with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection both on the front and rear. It features a 5.99-inch 2K plastic OLED display, is powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC and sports 6GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage. The penta-camera module is controlled by a custom ASIC chip created in partnership with photography company, Light.

The Nokia 9 PureView also offers multiple biometric options like most modern smartphones. It comes with software-based Face Unlock, and is the first Nokia-branded smartphone to bring an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also comes with wireless charging and is IP67-certified, denoting water and dust resistance. It packs a 3,320mAh battery and runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

So, are you looking forward to the launch of the penta-cam Nokia 9 PureView in India, or do you think it is too late to the party with a dated Snapdragon 845 chipset? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
