Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is well-known for many things, but the special part of this manga is the exhilarating fights. The author has a knack for crafting incredible battle sequences with top-notch action choreography, making them some of the best fights we have seen in a battle shonen series in recent times. In the Culling Game arc, Gege rewarded us with plenty of face-offs in the battle royale-esque game. As Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is confirmed to adapt the longest arc of JJK, here are the best Culling Game fights you need to look out for in the anime.
Spoilers Warning:
This article contains brief spoilers about the upcoming fights in the Culling Game arc of JJK. Read at your own discretion.
Megumi Vs. Reggie Star

Though Megumi Fushiguro is a supporting character in JJK, there is no doubt that he possesses potential equal to the hero Yuji Itadori. Even the great Sukuna acknowledged his potential to surpass anyone. He was pushed to the brink of his death after summoning Mahoraga during the Shibuya Incident. Megumi, who is gifted with the revered Ten Shadows Technique, is a clear example of brains over brawn in sorcerer battles, and it is evident once again in his fight against Reggie Star during the Culling Games.
Reggie Star is one of the sorcerers reincarnated by Kenjaku to participate in the Culling Game. Reggie put together a group and terrorized the other players of the game until he crossed paths with Megumi. Thanks to Takaba, Megumi gets a chance to fight against Reggie without any interference.
If you think Megumi can easily overwhelm his opponent with the Ten Shadows Technique, Reggie also has his Contractual Re-Creation technique, which puts them on equal ground. So, gear up for a survival of the fittest round where Megumi needs to step up his strategic game and utilize his CT better to take a win back home against this ancient sorcerer.
Yuji Vs. Higuruma

Itadori Yuji becomes one of the players of the Culling Game to help his friend, Megumi, rescue his sister. When the game heads down a bloody path, Yuji seeks a remarkable player to use his points to add a vital rule to the Culling Game. It is none other than Hiromi Higuruma, a fresh face joining the main cast of JJK from the Culling Game arc. Higuruma used to be a lawyer but gave up on his dreams to join the Culling Game.
Higuruma’s rejection of Yuji’s request triggers an inevitable battle between them. However, it is not a regular fight as Higuruma turns the tables with his Shikigami Judgeman and Deadly Sentencing Domain Expansion. What started as a fight turns into a trial where Yuji has to prove his innocence in the wake of the people who lost their lives in the Shibuya incident. We haven’t seen a trial-based Domain Expansion before in the story, so the Yuji vs. Higuruma fight in JJK season 3 will offer a distinctive experience.
Yuki and Choso Vs. Kenjaku

Choso, who was on Kenjaku’s side at the start, switches teams after learning the truth about his origin. Following the Shibuya Incident, Choso teams up with his younger brother Yuji, lending him a hand in his fight against Kenjaku. After the group meets Master Tengen in the Tombs of the Star, the immortal asked any two to stay with them in order to protect them from Kenjaku. Choso and Yuki Tsukumo decide to be with Tengen, and the worst thing Tengen was afraid of happens as Kenjaku knocks on their door.
In case you didn’t know, Kenjaku needs Tengen to complete his Merger goal. Thus, Yuki and Choso step up to fight against the evil mastermind. It’s essentially a 2 vs. 1 fight, so the odds are in favor of Yuki and Chose, right? But the fight is far from easy, even with two strong fighters against Kenjaku.
We have been waiting for a while to see Yuji Tsukumo’s abilities. In this fight, you will be able to see the true powers of a special-grade sorcerer, and Choso will do everything he can from his end to contain Kenaku. This is one of my favorite fights from the manga, and I can’t wait to see Yuki’s Star Rage technique in the JJK anime soon.
Yuta Vs. Ryu Vs. Uro

Kenjaku planned well, as he used his powers to reincarnate the strongest sorcerers from various eras to let them join his deadly Culling Game. Okkotsu Yuta ends up attracting the eyes of some of the most powerful sorcerers, such as Takako Uro, Ryu Ishigori, Kurourushi, Dhruv Lakdawalla, etc. As soon as Yuta is done with Kurourushi, both Ryu and Uro don’t waste any time and jump to join the party, making it a 3-way fight.
Yuta Okkotsu vs. Takako Uro vs. Ryu Ishigori is still one of the iconic fight sequences Gege Akutami has ever come up with in this manga. All three are uniquely strong in their own way, such as Ryu possessing the highest cursed energy output of all, and his Cursed Energy Discharge technique is a nightmare. Uro the assassin’s Sky Manipulation technique reshapes reality.
Do I need to say anything about Yuta’s abilities? All three possess overpowered cursed techniques presents a thrilling battle between these sorcerers, which has already been appreciated by manga readers. Now it’s the anime-only fans’ turn to watch this epic Culling Game fight unfold in the Sendai colony very soon in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.
Hakari Vs. Kashimo

Kinji Hakari is one of the names we have been hearing for a long time from other characters, and it is finally time to meet him officially in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. Not everyone gets praise from Gojo easily, but the sensei once stated that Hakari, along with Yuta, has the potential surpass him one day. One can even say Hakari is a special-grade sorcerer who never was. After Yuji and Megumi recruit him, Hakari participates in the Culling Game, and one of his opponents is the reincarnation of the lightning god.
Hajime Kashimo is a special and powerful sorcerer in the eyes of Kenjaku. He even prepares a specific vessel for the lightning god’s reincarnation. Kashimo is in the league of the strongest sorcerers in history and has always desired to fight Sukuna. But before that, he gets to fight against Hakari, who has the gift of becoming immortal for four minutes and 11 seconds after hitting the jackpot in his Domain Expansion.
If you are active in the JJK internet community, then I’m sure you must have come across a clip of Hakari dancing to the Tuca Donka music. It is none other than the battle between Hakari and Kashimo. This battle is considered to be the best Culling Game fight to this day. Therefore, when Hakari’s domain expansion is animated in season 3, it will break the internet without a doubt.
And these are our picks for the best Culling Games you should look out for in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. These are our favorites, and there are plenty of other battles, such as Maki vs. Naoya Zenin, Sukuna vs. Yorozu, etc. Let’s hope the third season can cover all the iconic fights of the Culling Game. In the meantime, let us know which is your favorite that you are waiting to see in the JJK anime in the comments below.

Yes! The Culling Game arc is confirmed to be adapted in JJK season 3. However, we do not know the exact number of chapters MAPPA is adapting in the Culling Game at the moment, as it is the longest arc in the series.
Since Gojo remains sealed inside the Prison Realm, he does not get a chance to participate in the Culling Games orchestrated by Kenjaku.
