Sucker Punch’s latest sequel, Ghost of Yotei, features a vast open world set in the Ezo regions surrounding Mount Yotei in Japan. In the same vein as its predecessor, Ghost of Yotei also enables fast traveling mode, so that players can freely revisit all the locations in Atsu’s retribution journey. If you are someone who prefers fast-traveling over riding to places on horseback all the time, here’s how to unlock fast travel in Ghost of Yotei.
How to Fast Travel in Ghost of Yotei?
Fast travel is an indispensable feature in an open-world game like Ghost of Yotei. Atsu’s vengeful journey takes you on a long ride through various lands of Ezo, the Northern parts of Japan. Thus, you will often find yourself revisiting locations to meet the armorer, bowyer, cartographer, etc, to upgrade your items.
If you have played Ghost of Tsushima, fast-traveling would be easier for you, as it’s the same as in the previous game. Players don’t need to obtain anything to unlock the fast travel feature in Ghost of Yotei. It’s available right from the beginning of the game, and all it requires is that you have visited the place (you need to travel to) at least once before. To fast-travel in Ghost of Yotei:
- First, open the map by pressing the touchpad of your controller.
- Hover over the location you are planning to visit.
- If you have already visited this place at least once, you will see the fast-travel icon marked above the place.
- Press the triangle button to instantly fast-travel to your desired location.
- In case you explore an area where there’s no spot to fast travel to, you can set up camp and use it as a fast travel hotspot later on.
Ghost of Yotei has been optimized so well that you don’t see any loading screen during fast travel, thanks to the PS5’s SSD. Thus, you can move between places rapidly without any hassle, unlike in the prequel game. Also, it should be noted that the fast travel feature will not be accessible during a mission or when you are engaged in combat.
That’s how you can use the fast-travel feature in Ghost of Yotei. That said, do you like to use the fast-travel feature or travel by horseback all the time? Let us know in the comments below.
