Dead Rails has two types of currency: the one you get by selling valuables during the escape, and the Treasury Bonds that allow you to purchase all sorts of classes, boosts, and equipment before the run even starts. Bonds look like small, reddish currency scattered across various structures inside the game’s ghost towns. This rare and valuable currency can change the course of the run. If you want to get this reddish note for yourself, keep reading as we list out how to get Bonds in Dead Rails right here.
How to Get Bonds in Dead Rails
Treasury Bonds are the main currency item in Dead Rails, and farming them becomes essential if you want to be the best among your friends and win more runs. You’ll find bonds in lots of structures during the escape. However, the whole run will be futile if you don’t know where to look for them. So, here is the list of all locations where you can find the Bonds in the game:
1. Completing the Run and Challenges
If you are a good survivor and manage to get through the end of the run, you’ll get 10 Bonds in the Normal mode, while 20 in Nightmare mode.

Not only does completing the run give you Bonds, but also consider looking at the Challenge board in the lobby. You’ll find a list of in-game challenges or quests like Tame a Unicorn or Bounty Hunter. Once you do these tasks during the run, the number of bonds will automatically be added to your account.
2. Towns and Bank Loot
Sometimes, you’ll find a large ghost town crawling with zombies during your journey. The buildings in this town have a good chance of containing 4-6 Dead Rails Bonds. So, bring out your weapon and consider riding a horse while shooting the zombies, as you will have an upper hand at outrunning them any time.
Furthermore, if one of those buildings inside is a Bank, a zombie with a long white beard and hat will be there. Kill this peculiar zombie to get the bank code in Dead Rails from him, which will contain a five-digit password.

Use the password to open the Bank Vault, or you may simply light a Dynamite to blast off the Vault door. Inside the vault, you’ll find 4-6 Treasury Bonds. However, if the Vault is broken, you’ll most likely find less.
However, do note that there’s one such town named Sterling Town that won’t contain any zombies at the main buildings. However looting these structures can hand you about 4-6 Bonds in all.
3. Raid Fort Construction
The Fort Construction is around 10-30 km or 50-60 km and is a high-risk area. It’s only recommended to head inside if you have proper guns with decent ammo and a decent piece of armor, as gun-wielding zombies will spawn here.

Once inside, ensure you kill all the zombies and Captain Prescott. Killing the Captain will grant you the key to the Vault. When you open the Vault, you’ll find a 6-7 Bonds alongside a Canon.
4. Raid the Tesla Lab
The Tesla Lab again falls around the 10-30 km or the 50-60 km mark and interchanges its position with the Fort Construction area. Here, you must first collect all the body parts of Nikola Tesla and perform the summoning ritual. Check out our linked guide to better understand how to go about it.

Once the ritual is done, a wave of Scientist zombies will start appearing through the entrance of the Lab. The best strategy is to climb up the wheel in the right room and wait for the zombies to cluster at the entrance. Now you can use AoE attacks like Dynamites, Molotov, Holy Water, or the Crucifix to deal with this group of monsters.
Finally, at the end of the wave, you’ll find a handful of bonds (approximately four) in the Central area in front of the table where you summoned Tesla.
5. Raid the Castle
The Castle is another risky structure that spawns just before the 40 km checkpoint. This one will be more difficult than all you’ve experienced before since it contains large groups of Werewolves and Vampires.

We recommend arriving at the structure around 4-5 AM in-game time to have complete daylight during the raid. Furthermore, you must be equipped with proper armor and ammunition to help you take on the enemies from a long range.
Once the raid is complete, you can claim all the loot available inside the Castle, and you can get around 6 bonds along with Gold, Silver, Vampire Knife, and other Valuables.
6. Raid the Outlaws’ Town
Finally, at the end of the Dead Rails journey, you will come across the Outlaws Town that houses the human enemies, the Outlaws. They will carry a gun, and a couple of them will be equipped with a Turret guarding the area from the top of the tower.
Make sure you slow down your train and enter the area with caution. We recommend you have a long-range gun, such as a Rifle or Bolt-Action Gun, to shoot enemies from far away.

Once the base is clear, head inside and don’t turn the wheel to lower the bridge yet. You must take your time to loot the huts, where you can find around 10 Treasury Bonds in Dead Rails.
After you’ve looted the area, you can turn the wheel and either wait to clear out the final wave of enemies or go down the bridge and stand on top of a wooden platform to let the time pass, and you win the round.
7. Using Bonds Using Robux
Apart from the in-game ways to collect Bonds, you can also consider buying them using Robux. Here is the price list of different amounts of Bonds you can get by spending real money:
- 5 Bonds: 49 Robux
- 10 Bonds: 79 Robux
- 20 Bonds: 129 Robux
- 50 Bonds: 199 Robux
Since completing a single run easily yields more than 30 bonds, we highly recommend against wasting money on this.
