- Healing in Deadlock is crucial for survival in fights and objective progress.
- Multiple healing methods are available in Deadlock, including going back to the spawn for healing or staying near the flag trooper.
- You can also pick a hero with healing abilities or build health regeneration and lifesteal items.
No matter what game we play, survival is naturally one of the key pillars of winning. Given Deadlock’s primary objective is to destroy enemy buildings, healing becomes an integral part of survival. Whether you are in the laning stage, team fights, or a solo situation, healing can shift the tide of an affair in Deadlock. Want to learn how to do that? Learn how to heal in Deadlock in all the best ways right here.
1. Returning to Base (Spawn Heal)
The fastest way to heal in Deadlock is by visiting your base or spawn. Once you enter your spawn area, your HP immediately starts to go up. We recommend reaching your spawn faster by using the zipline boost. Do note that if you constantly go to base for healing, you will lose out on souls and objectives.
That is why, we recommend going to base only when you have taken an objective, killed a hero, or cleared a lane enough. Nonetheless, this is one of the best ways to heal in Deadlock.
2. Stick Around Flag Troopers
While it is not a huge heal boost, your allied banner troopers can heal you if you are nearby. Banner troopers in Deadlock spawn every 25 seconds and can heal all nearby allies every six seconds.
You should stick to these minions in the laning stage. While the banner troopers don’t give a huge boost, every bit helps. Ensure you get the benefits from the troops before the enemies deal with them. As the flag minions are easy to kill, your enemies would try to kill them first to deny you some access to cheap healing.
3. Get Healing Items
Deadlock Items are one of the best ways to heal in the game. There are plenty of items that can heal you in different ways. Items such as Extra Regen, Extra Spirit, Sprint Boots, or Reactive Barrier provide you with health regeneration stats. While the amount is little, it can be helpful during the laning or while you are roaming the jungle.
On the other hand, some items give you passive HP regeneration. Restorative Shot grants you healing based on what target you hit. You can get 40 Healing from Heroes and 15 Healing from NPCs on each bullet hit. Moreover, Healbane gives you 350 heal on a hero Kill while Healing Booster can boost up all your healing in the game.
If you are in the late game, you can also buy Fortitude for added survivability. After not taking damage for 11s, you can gain 4% max health regeneration, if you have Fortitude.
But that is not it. Deadlock also has plenty of active health regen items that can heal you pretty quickly. Here are all the Deadlock active healing items:
- Healing Rite: Grant Regen and Sprint Speed to the target. Gets dispelled if you take damage from enemy players or objectives.
- Health Nova: Heal yourself and nearby allies. Heals an additional 20% per ally.
- Restorative Locket: When an enemy uses an ability within 50m range from you, store one Restoration Stack. Using it will consume all stacks to heal the target ally. If used it replenishes a stamina point on the target.
- Rescue Beam: Heals a target allied hero and yourself for a percentage of Max Health. Once while healing, you can Pull the target towards you.
4. Get Lifesteal Items
Alongside the health regen stat boost, passive, or active items, you can also gain health from lifesteal items. In Deadlock, you gain lifesteal from different weapons, vitality, or spirit items. For some decent lifesteal from the early game, you can buy Enduring Spirit or Melee Lifesteal. These items will help you sustain in your lane.
Keep in mind that lifesteal is only valuable when you can deal good bullet or ability damage. Based on your Weapon or Spirit power, your healing will increase. If you are building towards a bullet damage arsenal, keeping Bullet Lifesteal in your inventory can be huge. You can increase your bullet lifesteal further by getting the Vampiric Burst.
Using Vampiric Burst gets you 100% lifesteal. Moreover, Spirit Lifesteal helps you gain health from the ability damage you deal with. Furthermore, if you buy Siphon Bullets, your bullets will temporarily steal Max HP from enemies. So the next time you want to head in Deadlock, ensure you have your Lifesteal on lock!
5. Use Your Hero Abilities
After all that is said and done, you can always learn how to heal in Deadlock by picking a hero with an inbuilt lifesteal or health regeneration. McGinnis and Dynamo are some of the best Deadlock beginner heroes with health regeneration abilities. Both can create a circle of healing that can significantly heal everyone around them. Viscous is another great healer in Deadlock who makes the allies or himself a cube and heals during the cube state.
Heroes like Lady Geist or Warden come with lifesteal abilities. While Lady Geist can attach a string to her enemies and drink their lives away, Warden’s ultimate can drain life from enemies in his radar. If you want to play a supportive role, going with the health regeneration heroes is more viable than the lifesteal ones.
