Deadlock, the MOBA shooter made by Valve, is already peaking past its potential. I recently tried Deadlock, and it made my Dota 2 memories resurface in a good way. That said, as Deadlock is still in early development, certain features are locked in-game. In Deadlock, you can play matches only in your region during a certain window. Once the time is over, you must wait till the next day. Well, no more waiting if you’re addicted to the game. Deadlock allows players to change the server region to matchmake and keep playing the game. Curious how? Learn how to change the server region in Deadlock in this guide.
All Server Region Console Commands
Unlike CS2 or Dota 2, there is no dedicated option to change servers in Deadlock just yet. To change the server region in Deadlock, currently, you will need to use console commands. There are a total of six console commands, including one for automatic, to change regions.
You can choose between the North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania servers from the console. Here are the Deadlock console commands for all the server regions in the game right now:
- Automatic: citadel_region_override -1
- North America: citadel_region_override 0
- Europe: citadel_region_override 1
- Asia: citadel_region_override 2
- South America: citadel_region_override 3
- Oceania: citadel_region_override 5
How to Change Server Region in Deadlock
Now that you know the command, here is the step-by-step process you need to follow to change the server region in Deadlock:
- Press F7 on your keyboard to open the console or developer command panel.
- Copy the desired server region console command and paste it into the console.
- Then, press Enter on your keyboard, and the server will change immediately.
Once you switch servers, the matchmaking will be open again, allowing you to play Deadlock to your heart’s content. However, do note that you might experience hit registration and rubber-banding on other servers due to ping spikes at times.
You can also use the option to change servers to play with friends who live in different regions. But, setting it to “automatic” will always select the best server region for better ping. You can bypass the matchmaking timer by switching to a different region.
Hence, if you want to play Deadlock after the matchmaking has ended in your region, changing the server is the best way. Have you tried the Deadlock playtest yet? If not, learn how to get an invite for Deadlock playtest in our guide here.
