Herta is the Emanator of Erudition and the #83 of the Genius Society. She is one of the genius minds behind Simulated Universe, and Honkai Star Rail players are already very familiar with her. The game gives a free copy of the 4-star Herta early on in the game from Simulated Universe, which is basically one of her puppets. She has finally released in version 3.0, becoming one of the strongest Erudition character in the game. Here is everything we know about The Herta’s (true form) kit, eidolons, and signature Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail.
HSR The Herta: Drip Marketing, Rarity, Path, and Element Type
The Herta has been confirmed with his latest Drip Marketing to be a 5-star rarity character of the Erudition path and of Ice element type. There was a slight confusion about true form Herta’s official name, and the developers have decided to name her ‘The Herta’.
The writers from the Intelligentsia Guild wanted to give me an extra title. Something like “Herta Prime” to separate me from my puppets. How banal. Are the puppets not “me” as well? So, I gave them a suggestion — if they dared to write that, then I would call myself THE Herta. It’s short, simple, straight to the point, and elegant.
Honkai Star Rail players are already familiar with Herta, although we have so far interacted with her through her puppets. She is the member #83 of the Genius Society and is an Emanator of Erudition. Her true self is said to live at the far edge of the Cosmos, almost never leaving. She is expected to be connected to the next journey to Amphoreus by the Astral Express.

Honkai Star Rail The Herta Kit
Here is everything about The Herta’s (5-star true form) kit:
- Basic Attack (Wake Me Up When Slumber Ends): Deals Ice damage equal to 100% of The Herta’s Attack to a single enemy target.
- Skill (Big Brain Energy): Attacks a single target, applying 1 stack of ‘Interpretation’ and dealing Ice Damage equal to 70% of her Attack. Next, deals another Ice Damage equal to 70% of her Attack to the target hit by this instance of the Skill and their Adjacent targets. This effect can repeat 2 times.
- Enhanced Skill (Hear Me Out): She consumes one stack of ‘Inspiration’ and deals Ice damage equal to 80% of The Herta’s Attack to one designated enemy inflicting 1 stack of ‘Interpretation’. Next, deals Ice Damage equal to 0% of The Herta’s Attack to the target that has been hit by this instance of Skill and their adjacent targets, repeating 2 times. Finally, deals Ice Damage equal to 40% of The Herta’s Attack to all enemy targets.
- Ultimate (Told Ya! Magic Happens): Rearranges the number of ‘Interpretation’ stacks on all enemies, prioritizing the transfer of the higher number of stacks to Elite and above enemies. Next, deals AoE Ice Damage equal to 200% of her Attack. Additionally, using Ultimate increases The Herta’s attack by 64%, lasting for 2 turns. The Herta takes immediate action after using the Ultimate and gains 1 stack of ‘Inspiration’, which can stack 2 times and holding ‘Inspiration’ enhances her Skill to the enhanced version.
- Talent (Hand Them Over): Herta inflicts 1 stack of ‘Interpretation’ to all enemies that enter the battle. When the primary target of her Enhanced Skill attack has ‘Interpretation’ stacks, the damage multiplier of the Enhanced Skill increases, each stack granting an increase of 8%/5% on the primary/adjacent targets. Additionally, if at least two characters follow the Path of Erudition in the team, each stack grants and additional increase of 8%/5% on the primary/adjacent targets. After using the Enhanced Skill, all ‘Interpretation’ stacks are reset to 1 on the abilities’ target. ‘Interpretation’ can sack up to 42 times on an enemy and after enemy target is defeated or leaves the field, the stacks are transferred to other enemies, prioritizing Elite and above level enemies first.
- Technique (Vibe Check): Increases Herta’s Attack by 40% at the start of the battle, lasting for 2 turns. At the start of each wave, inflicts 4 ‘Interpretation’ stacks on all enemies. Her Technique can additionally mark the locations of up to 3 basic treasures on the map. When in the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, it deals 99% of the target’s Max HP as True Damage to enemies lower than Elite enemies and 30% of their Max HP as True damage to Elite Enemies and above.
- Trace 1 (Aloofly Honest): When an ally attacks, inflicts 1 stack of ‘Interpretation’ on the hit enemies. After the attack, for every target hit, The Herta regenerates 3 energy, counting up to a maximum of 5 targets.
- Trace 2 (Message From Beyond the Veil): When entering battle, if the team has no fewer than 2 characters following the Path of Erudition, increases all allies’ Crit Damage by 80%. Furthermore, applies 1 stacks of “Interpretation” after attacking to the target that has the highest existing stacks of “Interpretation” among the hit enemy targets. Additionally, the Trace 1 ability counts at least 3 targets when calculating the number of targets hit.
- Trace 3 (Starved Landscape of Vacua): The Herta’s Ultimate damage multiplier increases by 1% for every 1 stack of ‘Interpretation’ inflicted on enemy targets, stacking up to 99 times.
- Trace Stat Boosts: 22.4% Ice Damage Boost, 5 Speed Boost, 18% Attack Boost
The Herta’s kit appears to be extremely strong against multi-target enemies, while also compensating for single-target damage like Argenti’s maxed Ultimate. She can become very overpowered with a couple of Erudition characters alongside her, especially someone like Jade and Argenti. Other than that, it appears that she will also be a great pair for her 4-star version using The Herta’s best build.
