- GTA 6 will feature a realistic sweat system that reacts to Jason and Lucia’s level of physical exertion.
- Rockstar confirmed this new sweat system to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, and it also applies to GTA 6's NPCs.
- The sweat system is scripted and varies across in-game activities, although Rockstar hasn’t confirmed its full extent.
Rockstar is doing everything it can to make GTA 6 the most detailed game ever made, and the advanced sweating system further highlights the studio’s commitment to realism. The dynamic system responds to Jason and Lucia’s physical activities, mimicking how sweating works in real life.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed this in his new YouTube video on October 14, 2026, discussing why Rockstar took over eight years to develop GTA 6. According to Rockstar, GTA 6 features a scripted sweat system that reflects how much Jason and Lucia sweat based on their physical exertion.

“They told me that they have a [scripted] system in the game that will make it so Lucia or Jason or whoever will exert different amounts of sweat depending on how much effort they’re putting in. If they’re dancing extra hard in the nightclub, they will sweat more than if they’re not, which shows you the level of detail,” said Schreier.
So, Jason and Lucia will sweat more depending on the type of activities they do in GTA 6. For example, if both are working out at the gym, they’ll sweat more than when going on a date across Vice City in GTA 6.
We saw their new sweat system firsthand in the GTA 6 Extended Look when the footage cut to a brief shot of Lucia dancing at a club, drenched in sweat, with a drink in her hand. So, the more you dance, the more you exert pressure, and the more you perspire with GTA 6’s new dynamic sweat system.
Red Dead Redemption 2 featured a similar sweat system, but it was mostly limited to temperature and weather. Both Arthur and his horse looked sweaty near a campfire or in warm climates.
Meanwhile, GTA 6’s new sweat system is on a whole new level, going beyond Jason and Lucia and applying to NPCs as well. Sure, it’s not a major gameplay feature, but it will do a lot of heavy lifting for immersion. However, Rockstar has yet to confirm the full extent of this new sweating system.
