Port Gellhorn is a major port town in GTA 6, tucked away from Vice City’s busy streets. Rockstar refers to Port Gellhorn as “Leonida’s forgotten coast,” which should give you a rough idea of what to expect from this GTA 6 location. Industrial districts, closed-down attractions, and deserted strip malls now reside in this once-prominent tourist spot.
Port Gellhorn Overview
Port Gellhorn is located in Kelly County, in western Leonida. As a coastal city, it features a mix of commercial and industrial areas, forests, open fields, and rural environments.
In Game Informer’s cover story, Rockstar says this region reflects Florida’s smaller and struggling tourist destinations, featuring derelict attractions, barren strip malls, and seedy motels.

It’s a direct contrast to GTA 6’s Vice City, which is full of life. Port Gellhorn seems to be home to a predominantly working-class population, including drug dealers, addicts, and rednecks, as shown in Rockstar’s official screenshots. It resembles the rundown towns and less glamorous parts of GTA 5’s Blaine County.
Key landmarks in Port Gellhorn include the Starlet Motel and the Delights Strip Club, as seen in GTA 6 promotional images. According to the GTA 6 Mapping Project’s website, the coastal city is based on real-life Panama City, Florida.
Where to Find Port Gellhorn in GTA 6
Port Gellhorn can be found on Leonida’s western coast, as revealed via the GTA 6 Mapping Project.
Rockstar hasn’t unveiled the final GTA 6 map yet, so its exact location remains unclear at the time of writing. The map shows multiple roads, bridges, a raceway, an airstrip, and several other key areas to explore, including a Raceway and an Airfield.

The community-led map places the city northwest of Vice City, inside Kelly County, one of the major counties appearing in GTA 6. Several small islands also appear to surround the region, though it’s unclear whether they can be explored.

Key Characters in Port Gellhorn
Although Rockstar hasn’t revealed any prominent characters in Port Gellhorn, its official material suggests we’ll see rednecks, bikers, and addicts populating the area. Its official description says that the location’s new economy is “fueled by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks.”

Rockstar’s Senior Vice President of Environmental Art, Paul MacPherson, revealed that the team explored cities like Panama City (which is what Port Gellhorn is reportedly based on), Jacksonville, Ocala, and small rural towns scattered between for Leonida’s inspiration.
Expect Port Gellhorn to be filled with eccentric, unruly NPCs. Meanwhile, we have spotted only a couple of GTA 6 activities in the region so far:
- Strip Club (Delights)
- Robberies (Hank’s Waffles)
- Dirt Racing
We might also spot Brian Heder, one of the key characters in GTA 6, roaming the area, since he’s a drug runner, despite his established smuggling operations in the Leonida Keys. Brian last appeared in the Extended Look, sharing a scene with Jason and Lucia.
