Genshin Impact 4.4 livestream just revealed a ton of exciting news for Genshin players. The upcoming 4.4 version will let players invite one free character 4-star character from Liyue. The new update will also add 3 more skins, one of them attainable through events, and a ton of more stuff. How to Get a Free 4-Star Liyue Character?
The Genshin Impact 4.4 version will allow players to select one free 4-star character, just like last year, from Liyue in celebration of the Chinese New Year. HoYoverse has not announced any prerequisites for selecting the free characters, but I am assuming it would be open to players who have either finished the Act III of Prologue Archon Quest, Song of the Dragon and Freedom, or the Act IV of Chapter 1, We Will Be Reunited.
Players who are well ahead in their Archon Quests should be able to just start the game in the Genshin Impact 4.4 version and select one of the characters from the list of 10 characters. Here are all the free characters in Genshin Impact 4.4 from which you can select:
- Gaming
- Xiangling
- Beidou
- Xingqiu
- Ningguang
- Chongyun
- Xinyan
- Yun Jin

Which Free 4-Star Liyue Character You Should Pick?
Among the 10 4-star Liyue characters, there are some really good ones. Xingqiu is arguably the best character among the lot and is considered an S-tier Sub DPS. Next to him, you can pick Beidou, who is another great Sub DPS character with a unique and fun play style. Xiangling is also a great pick but she is already available for free in the game. You should only pick her if you want her constellations.
If you are looking for Support, then Yaoyao and Yun Jin can be great picks. Also, Gaming is part of the selectable free characters, and he is rumored to be a very strong DPS character with his Constellation 6, even comparable to many 5-star DPS.
