How to Get Fortnite Save the World Twitch Drops
You can get the Save the World Twitch Drops by watching participating Fortnite streams on Twitch. Each reward requires a different amount of watch time, and you need to have your Epic Games and Twitch accounts linked to make sure your watch time actually counts. Here are the steps you can follow to claim all Fortnite STW Twitch Drops:
- On the Epic Games Store website, go to your account settings and navigate to the Linked accounts section.
- Locate the Twitch icon, click “Connect”, and follow the prompts to authorise the link.
- If you have linked your Epic and Twitch accounts for previous events, it is recommended that you disconnect and reconnect them to make sure the handshake between the two platforms is active.
- Head to the Fortnite category on Twitch.
- Look for streams with the “Drops” tag and start watching.
- Once you hit a milestone, you will receive a notification and will have to manually click “Claim” in your Twitch Drops & Rewards menu to receive the items.
- The unlocked drops should be added to your Fortnite library within the next 24 hours.
Note that, while many creators play Battle Royale on their streams, you specifically need to watch Save the World streams for your progress to count towards the new Fortnite Drops. Also, remember not to mute the streams, as Twitch sometimes stops tracking progress for muted windows.
The Fortnite Save the World Twitch Drops event will run from April 16, 2026, to April 20, 2026, giving players 4 days to binge their streams to earn all the rewards. Since these rewards, especially the Legendary Hero, are unlikely to come to the Fortnite Item Shop, this might be your only chance to get them for free.
With the new free Fortnite Jess skin and now these Twitch Drops, it is clear that Epic wants players to engage with the finally free-to-play Save the World mode as much as possible. With the developers already confirming more updates coming to the mode down the line, players can keep an eye out for any other free Fortnite skins and cosmetics attached to the base-building mode.
