- The Zantara's Head bounty in Dune Awakening can be obtained from the contracts board at Harko Village.
- The quest promises a reward of 1 million Solari if the player succeeds in killing Zantara and provides proof of the character's death to an unnamed NPC.
- Unfortunately, there's no way to complete this quest. And most players believe that it exists solely for world-building reasons.
The Zantara’s Head bounty in Dune Awakening has caused all manner of confusion among players for multiple reasons. The survival-crafting game is packed with bounty missions that see you hunt down NPCs for a reward. However, Zantara’s Head is a glaring exception since the game provides no clue to the objective’s location. The side quest also has a knack for disappearing out of nowhere, which is enough to leave any player perplexed. If you’ve also been left scratching your head, here’s everything you need to know about the Zantara’s Head bounty in Dune Awakening.
Dune Awakening Zantara’s Head Bounty Explained
You can pick up the Zantara’s Head bounty after visiting Harko Village for the first time and interacting with the contracts board. The bounty has been issued by the Imperial Spice Minister Count Hasimir Fenring, who accuses Zantara of terrorising bondsmen throughout Arrakis. As punishment for his crimes, Fenring wants Zantara’s head, and he’s offering 1 million Solaris as a reward.

If that reward sounds too good to be true, well, that’s because it sort of is. At the time of writing, there’s no way to complete this mission and collect the bounty. In fact, the contract has randomly disappeared for a majority of players online shortly after it pops up on the board.
The running theory behind the quest’s mysterious nature is that it simply exists for world-building reasons. For the uninitiated, Zantara is the Fremen NPC who shoots down your ship during Dune Awakening’s intro and guides you through the rest of its tutorial. The character goes into hiding shortly after, and the bounty’s purpose might be to hint at the reason behind his vanishing.
While this theory is more than plausible, it’s important to note that you do cross paths with Zantara in a late-game quest and are free to kill him. You can also collect his ring as stated in the bounty’s brief. However, there’s no NPC to deliver the ring to, at least as of yet. Ultimately, this means that the bounty remains unfinished, and the promise of 1 million Solari – a pipe dream.
We’ll be sure to update this guide if the quest is fleshed out in the future or if there’s a new development in the matter. Until then, let us know in the comments if Zantara’s Head bounty is still active for you.
