All Ruby Locations in Doom The Dark Ages

Ruby is one of the most essential items in Doom The Dark Ages, as it is used to upgrade weapons. Although Rubies may not be able to upgrade weapons to the max level, they upgrade them to the second and third tiers, which can be more useful for some weapons. Unfortunately, Ruby is a limited resource in the game and is often hidden in different chapters. With that in mind, here are all the Ruby locations in Doom The Dark Ages.

Ruby Locations in Sentinel Barracks (Chapter 4)

The first Ruby that becomes available in Doom The Dark Ages is in Sentinel Barracks or Chapter 4. There are two rubies available in this chapter, and here are their locations:

• Location 1: The first Ruby in this area can be obtained by simply following the quest marker. You will eventually reach the place with the Ruby and can easily obtain it.

• Location 2: The second Ruby is hidden in a secret area. Once you reach the location on the map given below, look for a place to jump off to the lower hidden area. From there, make your way up until you reach the secret area and obtain the second Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Holy City of Aratum (Chapter 5)

The Holy City of Aratum has two rubies, each hidden in a different area. Here is how you can find both of them:

• Location 1: The first Ruby is located on the fourth Hell Carrier, which has a landing spot on an area nearby instead of on the ship. Continue moving ahead until you get a new weapon. Just a bit forward from the weapon would be the first ruby available in this area, but it will be locked behind a door. Look above for a breakable red lock, opposite the door, and throw your shield to break it. Once broken, the door will open, and you can obtain the Ruby.

• Location 2: You will find the second ruby in one of the secret landing spots. This landing spot will have a button near the middle to unlock a water hole on the ground. Swim through the hole to the bottom and find a Valve. Turn the valve to access the Red keycard near the caged room. After you have obtained the Red keycard, get back outside and open the door with the Red keycard to obtain the second Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Siege — Part 1 (Chapter 6)

Siege – Part 1 chapter has four Rubies in total, and finding all of them is fairly tricky. Thankfully, you have us guiding you with the steps given below. Also, refer to our All Secret Keys location guide, whenever a Ruby is found hidden behind a secret door.

• Location 1: The first Ruby can be found by simply going to the location shown below. Although you may have to defeat nearby enemies before you can obtain it.

• Location 2: The next Ruby is a bit tricky to find. Head to the area shown below, and here you will find the Ruby locked inside a cage. Jump into the water and find an underwater passage to the other side. Continue heading inwards until you come across a switch and interact with it. Return to the water and make your way to the cage. Now you will be able to reach the Ruby and obtain it.

• Location 3: The third Ruby in this area is tied to the Wolf Statue puzzle. Find all the Wolf Statues in the area and break them. Return to the Ruby location as given in the map image and obtain the Ruby.

• Location 4: The fourth Ruby in this area is locked behind a secret door. Find the secret key in the area and head to the marked place shown on the map below to obtain it.

Ruby Locations in Siege — Part 2 (Chapter 7)

The Siege — Part 2 has only two rubies, almost half as many as compared to the last chapter. Here are all the locations you can find them at:

• Location 1: The first Ruby in Siege — Part 2 can be found behind a secret door. Find the secret key of this area first, and then head back to the location shown on the map. You may have to defeat multiple enemies nearby before you can obtain this Ruby in the secret area of chapter 7.

• Location 2: The second Ruby is fairly easy to get, simply follow the main quest until you reach the open spaceship area. Here, instead of following the quest, climb up on the boxes placed at the corner and head upwards to find the Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Abyssal Forest (Chapter 8)

The Abyssal Forest also has only two Rubies. Here are all their locations.

• Location 1: After dropping down to the second area of the map, look at the sides and drop to the lower area present there. Continue on your way collecting the gold and eventually you will come across the first Ruby.

• Location 2: Follow the mission and reach the area below. One the left of the ballistic gun used for clearing the debris, you can jump to another platform. Continue jumping ahead until you reach the second Ruby location.

Ruby Locations in Ancestral Forge (Chapter 9)

The Ancestral Forge also has only two rubies. Here is how you can get both in quick succession:

• Location 1: The first Ruby location in this forge is at the highest reachable point on the map. Once you get near the area shown on the map, look for winding paths that reach the top. You will find the ruby at the very top, next to the Vagary toy.

• Location 2: The second Ruby can be found inside the ship area, locked behind a door. Near the door, look for a small opening that shows a breakable red lock. Throw your shield saw at it through the small opening to break it, which will open the door. Head inside and take the ruby.

Ruby Locations in The Forsaken Plains (Chapter 10)

The Forsaken Plains has three Rubies, and most of them can be found pretty easily. Here is how you can obtain all of them:

• Location 1: The first Ruby location in this area is right outside one of the Gore Nests. Reach the area shown on the map and head inside the room first to clear the Gore Nest, which will unlock the Ruby outside.

• Location 2: The second Ruby is located behind a secret door, so you have to get the Secret key of this area first. After you have obtained the secret key, follow the path shown on the map towards Ruby and unlock the secret door. After entering the secret area, you must defeat all the enemies there. Reach the other end after defeating the enemies; you will find the Ruby waiting for you there.

• Location 3: To find the third Ruby, head to the Shrine shown on the map below and use the elevator on its right to reach the top platform. Here you will find the third Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Spire of Nerathul (Chapter 14)

The Spire of Nerathul has three rubies, one at the first landing spot, and two more at the second landing spot. Here is how you can find all of them:

• Location 1: The first Ruby can be found in the first landing spot area. Follow the main story until you reach the area shown below. Use the boost nearby to jump to the top planks and obtain the Ruby.

• Location 2: The second Ruby is slightly tricky to get as it is shown in plain sight but locked behind a closed door. This Ruby can be found at the second landing spot. Once you reach the shown area, jump into the water and look for an underwater passage. Follow it and make sure to dodge the fireballs until you appear before the Ruby.

• Location 3: The third Ruby can also be found at the second landing spot. Follow the quest until you reach the location shown below. Head up into the shown room and defeat all the monsters there to unlock the Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Kar’Thul Marshes (Chapter 16)

There is only one Ruby in Kar’Thul Marshes and it requires solving a tricky puzzle. Head to the location shown on the map below and enter the room present there. On entering, you will be taken into another dimension, where the true puzzle exists. First, jump into the water to land on top of the platform. From the top, throw the shield at the red lock present at a distance.

Now, head down and align the two frames of the Cosmic eyes, and then shatter the frame with the Shield Saw. Jump into the water again to land on top of the platform. Now jump to the Ruby and obtain it for your weapons.

Ruby Locations in Harbor of Souls (Chapter 19)

The Harbor of Souls chapter also has only one Ruby, and it is locked behind a quick puzzle. Reach the area shown below by following the main quest. Once you have reached here, use the elevator in the middle of the head up. Next, jump on the platform with the big red button.

Now, stand on the button and throw the shield saw at the opposite energy modules. After hitting the module, the door locking the Ruby will open. Don’t call your Shield back until you have obtained the Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Resurrection (Chapter 20)

Chapter 20, Resurrection, has three rubies in total. Here is how you can obtain all the Rubies in Doom The Dark Ages.

• Location 1: The first Ruby can be found just by heading to the area shown on the map. Simply get there and obtain the Ruby from the statue.

• Location 2: To get the second Ruby, you must first find the Blue key in the area. After getting it, open the door and continue heading up to find the Ruby.

• Location 3: The third Ruby is also locked behind a Blue door. Head to the area shown below and use the Blue Key to open the games. Head inside and defeat all the enemies to unlock the Ruby.

Ruby Locations in Reckoning (Chapter 22)

The final area with Ruby locations in Doom The Dark Ages is none other than the final chapter, Reckoning. This chapter has 3 Rubies, and here is how you can find them:

• Location 1: The first Ruby is found in a secret area. Follow the main mission unto you come across an elevator. Instead of going up, look for a Blue button nearby and throw your Shield at it to enable it. This will drop a climbable wall, climb on it, and continue moving until you find another Blue switch. Hit it again to get another climbable wall. Now, recall your shield to make the path to the next platform. Climb up again to reach the Ruby.

• Location 2: The second Ruby is hidden in plain sight. Follow the main mission to reach the area shown below, where you will see Ruby behind a locked door. Head towards the other end of the hall and fall down to find a booster at the bottom. Use the booster to jump to the very top platform. Now, simply run towards the Ruby and drop down in the next room to obtain it.

• Location 3: The final Ruby can be found behind a secret door. Find the secret key in the area first and then use it to open the door at the area shown in the map below.
