Who is Kreed Maykr in Doom The Dark Ages?
As learned from the Codex entries, Kreed Maykr is the newly appointed Bishop of the Ministry and is responsible for overseeing the steady flow of Sentinel Energy to the Maykr homeworld. He has been in charge of the Slayer to be wielded in the war against Hell by the Maykr Council.
However, once the Slayer went out of control, Azhrak offered Kreed Maykr to join him against the Slayer. Although they succeeded in killing the slayer, it couldn’t stop the slayer from returning from the afterlife to seek revenge.

Kreed Maykr has four distinct attacks during his phase one. All of his attacks can be countered with these steps:
- Roaming Energy Ball: Kreed Maykr summons an energy ball and roams around the battlefield, damaging the slayer when it comes into contact with it. Throw your Shield Saw at this energy ball to break it.
- Summon Maykr Drones: Maykr Drones are constantly summoned on the battlefield. They can be mostly ignored as Kreed Maykr will only summon more when you defeat them all. It’s better to take down the main enemy first. However, you want to get rid of them, use the shield charge to quickly dispose of the drones.
- Non-parryable energy projectiles: This is the most spammed attack by Kreed Maykr in the first phase. The projectiles cannot be parried, but they can be blocked with the shield or dodged when at a distance.
- Parryable Energy Beam: Kreed Maykr will often fire quick energy beams, which are hard to judge initially. However, these can be parried. Once parried, Kreed Maykr is stunned, and his shield is removed.
- Shielded Energy Wave: The main attack for Kreed Maykr is the shielded energy wave, where he takes the center stage of the battlefield, shields himself, and starts firing waves of slow-moving energy all around him. Get as far away from Kreed Maykr as possible, and it will give you enough time and space between the energy waves so that you can dodge them easily.
How to Beat Kreed Maykr: Phase 2
After entering phase 2, Kreed Mayker retains all his previous attacks while adding two more to the list. Here are all the new attacks he uses in phase 2 and how you can counter them:
- Shielded Rotating Energy Wall: Kreed Maykr starts with the Rotating Energy Wall attack in the second phase. He shields himself and creates four energy walls that split the battlefield, rotating them so that they hit the Slayer. During this time, move with the wall’s rotation to avoid getting hit.
- Energy Rain: Kreed Maykr fires energy projectiles up in the air, and they fall on the battlefield over time. The game clearly marks the position where the energy projectiles will fall on the ground, so avoid it while moving around.
Best Tips to Beat Kreed Maykr in Doom The Dark Ages

- Best weapon against Kreed Maykr: An upgraded Ravager is the best Doom The Dark Ages weapon against Kreed Maykr. It deals a ton of focused damage and can keep the Slayer alive by making the enemy drop health shards using the Vampirism mod. Other than that, any ranged weapon with a high fire rate, like Cycler and Shredder, should do the trick.
- Stay in range: Many of Kreed Maykr’s attacks hit harder at close range. It is better to fight against him while keeping a safe distance. This way, you can mostly avoid his projectiles and wave attacks.
- Parry to get advantage: Whenever you see the energy beam attack animation, prepare to parry, as it will create a big opportunity for you to deal damage. This is the only attack that can be parried against Kreed Maykr, and it completely stuns him for a couple of seconds, leaving him vulnerable to a ton of damage.
- Glory Strikes: Kreed Maykr has a stun meter, which builds slowly as he takes damage. At max stun, you can perform a Glory strike on him. Keep firing at Kreed Maykr until he gets dazed, and quickly execute a Glory Strike to deal more damage.
