The latest iteration of Xiaomi’s gaming-focused sub-brand BlackShark’s gaming flagship, the BlackShark 2 is going to be launched in India on May 27. The BlackShark 2 launched in China earlier this year, and the company has now sent out press invites for the India launch of the gaming smartphone as well.
The event is all set to take place on May 27, in New Delhi, and is very clearly aimed at gamers, with lines such as ‘Time to Frag’ and ‘Best DPS ever’ written on the invite.
As far as specs are concerned, the BlackShark 2 comes with top-of-the-line hardware inside. There’s a 6.39-inch AMOLED display, with a 1080×2340 resolution. The phone also comes with the Snapdragon 855 SoC for all the heavy lifting, paired with up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. There’s also a 4,000 mAh battery with a USB-C charging port, and support for Quick Charge 4.0 that supports up to 27W chargers.
In terms of optics, the BlackShark 2 comes with a 48MP + 12MP dual rear camera. There’s also a 20MP front camera for selfies.
The phone also comes with features specific to gamers, such as ‘Liquid Cooling 3.0’, an AI game engine, and an extremely fast touch response which should definitely be useful for gamers.
The phone is launching in India on May 27, and will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the Asus ROG Phone. While the pricing for the phone isn’t confirmed yet, it should launch at around Rs. 40,000 in India. We’ll get to know more as we near the launch of the BlackShark 2, so stay tuned.
