We have compiled all the main bosses along with the mini-bosses you will run into in your journey to the West as the Monkey King, Wukong. Without any further ado, grab your magical staff, and let’s begin:

1. Black Loong (Xiaolilong)

Black Loong aka Xiaolilong is a walking dragon with two electric-charged maces in each of its hands to whack you off the ground. According to the novel, there are four distinct Loongs and each one can be found in one of the four rivers. However, in the gameplay video, Black Loong was seen in a deserted region.

Black Loong might not be extremely agile but it relies completely on its raw strength to overwhelm the players with its maces. This boss battle can quickly turn into a stressful one if we don’t pay attention to the electrical AOE attacks. Patience and wise use of spells along with melee can help you secure a victory.

2. Blood Moon General

After watching the boss fight of Blood Moon General in previews, I’m sure it is going to be one hell of a beast boss. For those who aren’t aware, alas, you have to clear the two phases to defeat the General.

In the first phase, you will have to deal with the varied attacks of the beasts such as thrust attacks, ground slam attacks, etc. As you make it to the second phase, the entire surroundings will be covered under blood moon and the general’s fight will turn more belligerent with new attacks.

3. Centipede Guai

Centipede Guai translates to irregular/abnormal centipede in Chinese and even though this boss is named a centipede, its design is actually inspired by a woodlouse.

This monster comes with a variety of moves to catch you off guard such as rolling attack, spewing poison, summoning its minions, etc to keep the battle and you intense all the time. If you have mastered the art of dodging by now, this boss must be easy as a breeze.

4. Chiran (Red Loong)

Chiran, the red dragon is actually one of the brothers of Black Loong we met above. Chiran here likes to fight from the ground and so the majority of Chiran’s attacks utilize his claws.

Similar to his brother, Chiran’s strikes are infused with lightning and can quickly overwhelm you with its long tail. As it primarily stays on the ground, this dragon challenge might be easier to clear if we stay sharp and exploit all the openings.

5. Huodaolang (Guangzhi)

Don’t get tricked by this instructor’s invitation to study Buddhism, as the lecture transforms into a flaming battle. Huodaolang, also known as Guangzhi is a monk with a wolf’s head who wields a fire-coated twin-blade glaive. Guangazhi spearheads this riveting fight with versatile attacks such as slashes, throws, and many more using his twin-blade glaive.

He is quick on his feet and appeals as a daunting boss you will encounter in the first few hours of the game. It is expected that beating him would earn you the transformation of his character, which comes in handy during other boss battles.

6. Kang Jinlong

Kang Jin Long is one of the very first bosses we witnessed in the gameplay test video shared by Game Science. You are bound to encounter a mighty white dragon during your visit to the Ice Lake. This dragon is waiting to electrocute you with its lightning powers.

Thus, get ready for an aerial battle with your magical staff. From the boss battle clips, one thing is clear which is it any form of attack is always imbued with lightning to wreak havoc during your meeting. This dragon’s design and battle reminds me of the Divine Dragon from Sekiro!

7. Wolf Demon (Lingxuzi)

It looks like there is no shortage of aggressive bosses in Black Myth: Wukong as a battle against the ferocious Wolf Demon awaits us. Wolf Demon as the name implies has the strong suits of a wolf such as its deadly claws and fans. It is a gigantic gnarly beast that is extremely fast to keep track of and attacks rapidly and unpredictably.

It may be tough to find an opening against this boss but your spells and stances have always got your back to win against this massive foe. Moreover, Wolf Demon is weak against fire so you can make use of Huodaolang’s transformation to set it on fire.

8. Macaque Chief

This time the Monkey King meets the chief Macaque who is a skilled swordsman. As the name indicates, Macaque Chief’s design is based on the Macaque type of monkeys. Additionally, it has feathers on its back (second phase) and is given a sword to duel against us.

Therefore, get ready for an aggressive battle in the snow with Macaque Chief. Out of all the Black Myth Wukong bosses, we are most excited about this one.

9. Mi Dao Ren

Unlike all the other bosses that have been revealed so far, Mi Dao Ren might seem like a regular monk behind a mask. But don’t let the appearance deceive you as this boss can still turn into a concern if not dealt with properly.

Based on the fight clip, we can see that this monk is highly skilled in martial arts and swordplay. By utilizing both his skills in tandem with one another and transforms into a mighty boss. This Black Myth Wukong boss is a bit scary, isn’t he?

10. Stone Vanguard (Man in Stone)

A fantasy story remains incomplete with a gigantic golem boss, right? Stone Vanguard is a sturdy boss set to rock you with his colossal strength. While it might be slow in movement if you miss your dodges, you could be in big trouble with its slamming attacks. As seen in the official bos fight reveal, you can follow the tip to utilize the stone transformation to win this battle. I mean Diamonds cut diamonds.

11. Poisonous King

Poisonous King whose design is inspired by a scorpion retains its deadly features such as the pincers and stingers to make the players feel the sting during the fight. Be it close combat or long-range, the king can easily keep you stressed, and to top it off it is well-stocked with poison to spew it all over you. Therefore, maintaining the right space and the useful immobilizing spell are the keys to defeating this king.

12. Tiger Vanguard

Tiger Vanguard is one of the bosses who was claimed to be a very resilient foe by the players who got the chance to experience the demo. As the boss’s name suggests, prepare to fight a fierce tiger boss who isn’t just aggressive at melee attacks but with its katana as well. Akin to a tiger, this boss is built with piercing fangs, claws, and nimble bodies to trouble you and make it a hard time beating it.

13. Unnamed Black Bear

The latest previews of the game revealed yet another humongous boss who awaits to ravage us. This boss’s design is based on a massive black bear and we currently do not know the name of it. What makes this boss fight even more special is that the bear has special magical attacks that will be incorporated with the typical bear attacks to smack down the players.

For example – The bear was seen teleporting quickly in the air and landing devastating attacks unpredictably. There is also a second phase where you would have to fight against the bear literally in fire. Thus, prepare well for a challenging fight against this colossal bear.

14. Big Head

To earn this little giant transformation in Black Myth Wukong, you would have to first win against the Big Head boss whose name is yet to be revealed. This boss acts uncontrollably with quick ground slams that can break your stance and battle rhythm.

You can try overwhelming him with your clone spell and quickly mask yourself in them to deal severe damage to him. Once you get your victory, you’ll be rewarded with his transformation which is considered to be very helpful.

These are the Black Myth Wukong bosses we have encountered so far. From the first impressions, it looks like our Journey to the West is packed with several boss encounters that haven’t been revealed to us. Thus, stay tuned for more updates about the bosses in Black Myth: Wukong.
