The system goes into chaos when a young man filled with revenge for his dead mother tries to bring everyone on the equal time.

Despite the mind-blowing concept, the movie didn’t perform well at the box office, and neither received much appreciation. The audience felt the story could have been better given the complex concept with so much potential. Still, the movie hooks the viewers throughout the story, and it’s interesting to see how things work out. So, if you like Divergent and want to see a similar movie, In Time is the best film for you. To avoid any revolt, the leaders of the society keep the memory away from all the individuals in the protection of a single person called the Receiver of Memory. We follow Jonas (Thwaites), a young man who is next in line to become the Receiver of Memory. As he learns the truth, he starts a quest to ensure everyone should be free to make their own choices.

The movie performed moderately well despite the following for the source material. As he realizes the error, he wakes up another girl (Lawrence) to have company on the journey, but does not tell her the truth. Both of them should now live their life on the ship and take care of it for the safety of other passengers.

The movie was highly appreciated for its visual and sound effects and the breathtaking performance by both lead actors. However, viewers found scope for a better story and character arc given the interstellar travel idea.

Similarly, the movie is about a truth or dare game that asks players to perform tasks in exchange for money. The participants either have an option to be a player or a watcher. However, you cannot back out once you have chosen to play. As the game progresses, we see that players have to do more dangerous and life-threatening tasks.

29. What Happened To Monday (2017)

  • IMDb: 6.8
  • Rotten Tomatoes: 61%/67%
  • Director: Tommy Wirkola
  • Writer: Max Botkin, Kerry Williamson
  • Cast: Noomi Rapace, Willem Dafoe, Glenn Close, Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck
  • Runtime: 2 hours, 3 minutes

What Happened to Monday is a dystopian action thriller film. The plot takes place in a world where each family is allowed to have only one child due to overpopulation. The family we follow consists of 7 identical sisters (named Monday to Sunday) who assume a single identity in the outer world and can only go out on the same day of the week as their name. The story intensifies when one of the 7 sisters goes missing, and the other six start looking for her. However, they must do so without anyone knowing, or it can be a danger to all of their lives.

The movie has a twisted story and one of the freshest and most original ideas you might have seen. The sci-fi part of the movie isn’t really appealing, but the action and plot are ludicrous and violent. The critics don’t much like the movie, but it has the potential to become a cult film.
