15 Best Minecraft Island Seeds

Imagine spawning on an island with limited resources and nowhere in particular to go. Will you first make a boat to explore the oceans or spend time gathering resources to ensure your survival? That’s the difficulties survival islands have in store. So, we have compiled a list of the best Minecraft island seeds that will throw you a challenge. The island generation works the same on both versions of the game, but the structure generation does not. With that, let’s explore all these fun seeds right away!

We last updated this list on February 6, 2024, at 10:40 PM IST to include new seeds and replace some old ones.

1. Village Survival Island

Savanna village on an island

Starting on an easy note, our first seed spawns players on a huge survival island with a dependable savanna village on its edge. You can get food, wood, and all the basic resources to start your adventure right after spawning.

After that, you can either venture into the rest of the world or stay on the island to make a Nether portal and try to speedrun the game.

  • Seed Code: -2927611868038818840
  • Spawn Biome: Savanna
  • Village Coordinates: X:264 Z:-376 (Bedrock)
  • Village Coordinates: X:160 Z: -336 (Java)

2. Island of Trees

Without a doubt, wood is one of the most common and reliable resources in the game. You can’t even make a crafting table without finding it in Minecraft. And if nothing else, wood also serves as one of the most versatile building blocks in the game, thanks to its variety. Luckily, our seed has decided to load you up on half of the wood types in the game.

This seed spawns players on an island with birch forest, taiga, old-growth birch forest, and forest biomes blending into one another flawlessly. Then on top, there is a hill in the middle of the island where you can make a wooden Minecraft house to look over your kingdom of trees.

  • Seed Code: 9043662922853427559
  • Spawn Biome: Taiga
  • Hill Coordinates: X: 216 Z: -468

3. Stuck in Ice with Exposed Lush Cave

Most survival island seeds in Minecraft put you in the middle of the lonely ocean. And you can at least swim or row your way to other pieces of land. But not on this seed. It spawns you on an island that is stuck in a frozen ocean, which is a perfect challenge to embark beyond the generic survival islands.

But since it’s Minecraft, you always have a creative alternative. If you are too scared of the cold ocean, you can jump into the ravine in the middle of the island. It leads you to a huge exposed lush cave. From there, you can freely travel underground to your next destination. And while you are at it, don’t forget to find an Axolotl in Minecraft down there too.

  • Seed Code: -5106417445507245621
  • Spawn Biome: Snowy Beach
  • Lush Cave Coordinates: X: 216 Z: -468

4. Too Hot to Survive

Most players make it through the survival islands because of the basic food sources that they get on the islands. But what if there wasn’t any? This nightmare comes true on our next seed that puts you on a desert island. Even the nearest land consists of deserts only.

Fortunately, there is a small area of savanna biome to help you with the wood supply. Otherwise, this seed would have been truly hard to overcome.

  • Seed Code: -5174064112800421857
  • Spawn Biome: Desert

5. No Island and No Survival

Our next survival island seed is a result of a glitch that not many of you will survive. It spawns you drowning inside an ocean with no piece of land nearby. This is because your spawn point is technically in the desert biome, but there is no land, just water.

Even if you somehow survive drowning in-game, there is almost no way to avoid starving. So, if you are exploring our seed list to test your survival skills, there is no better option than this seed. This is the hardest survival island seed we have ever come across.

  • Seed Code: 2607133457590840792
  • Spawn Biome: Ocean

6. Classic Survival Island Seed

Going back to the basics, our next seed takes us to the original survival islands. It spawns you next to a handful of trees and no mobs. The only way to get away from it alive is by punching fish to get food or swimming your way to a reliable biome.

  • Seed Code: -9130788887503251562
  • Spawn Biome: Beach

7. Swamp Forest Next to Mushroom Fields

Our next Minecraft survival island seed is exciting in terms of its terrain features. It includes two scattered hills, merging biomes, underwater ravines, and even a tiny mushroom field island. All that is missing from this seed is an explorer like you to make the most out of this seed.

  • Seed Code: 8303052291160925864
  • Spawn Biome: Swamp
  • Mushroom Fields Coordinates: X: -70 Z: 254

8. Scattered Mountain On Minecraft Survival Island

This seed offers players a beautiful spawn point next to a scattered mountain, which is loaded with Minecraft ores. You can obtain iron, coal, and other basic ores in no time. Then, when it is time to find diamonds, you can jump into one of the underwater ravines and start looking.

If you’re wondering about the food for this mining trip, the mountain island is loaded with various mobs including pigs, cows, and even chickens. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it is. Even though you get many advanced resources on this island, it only has a single tree on it.

So, your wood supply and the ability to get most of the resources are limited. But to be fair, it can’t be a survival island if your life isn’t at risk.

  • Seed Code: 4849460105508581877
  • Spawn Biome: Beach

9. Land of Sand in the Ocean

Pushing you to the edge of your patience, this seed can be super frustrating. It spawns you on a barren desert island with nothing but more desert islands around you. There are no trees, no structures, and no mobs to accompany you.

The best you can get is fish, sugarcane, and pointy cactuses. So, even if the fish can feed you, there is almost no way to progress in this seed unless you swim hundreds of blocks to other biomes.

  • Seed Code: -8344997874068592354
  • Spawn Biome: Desert

10. Swim to Safe Haven

Mushroom fields are easily one of the rarest and most celebrated Minecraft biomes of all time. No hostile mob can spawn in this biome, making it the perfect spot for your base. And spawning close to one of the biggest collections of this biome’s islands is almost impossible. But not for this seed, which puts you a few hundred blocks away from a cluster of mushroom fields.

However, you spawn in the middle of the ocean so you have to slowly swim to the safe haven on these islands. This seed is one of the most challenging ones we could find, but is it more difficult than the #5 seed on our list? Try it out and tell us what you think in the comments below.

  • Seed Code: -2470007507258488189
  • Spawn Biome: Ocean
  • Closest Mushroom Island Coordinates: X: 72 Z: 104

11. Villagers to the Rescue Again

Here we’ve got yet another village survival seed. This one includes a plains village on both editions of the game. You’ll get easy access to food and essential resources, and then you can decide whether to leave this home island or stay and transform the village. Even though the village generates on this island on Java and Bedrock, they are not quite the same.

This seed is so much more OP on Bedrock than on Java. That’s because the village does not include one, two, or three blacksmith houses, but five of them! If you don’t believe us, load up the seed and count them.

Though, why are they so valuable? Well, you can find all sorts of items that’ll let you even speedrun the game. Some of those are iron armor, obsidian, and even diamonds.

  • Seed Code: -2249399591983121695
  • Spawn Biome: Plains

12. Cherry Grove Island

This list just wouldn’t be complete without a pink cherry biome. So, this seed provides just that. Here, you’ll find a small cherry grove biome attached to the frozen peaks biome. Due to the fact there are only several oak trees in the vicinity, you’ll be primarily using the pink wood.

Also, on the Java edition, there is even a plains village on this island, so it turns this survival island into a chill one (pun intended). However, be careful when exploring the caves in the lowest layers, because you might just need to say hello to the Warden in a small deep dark biome.

Apart from that, you’ll also find two mineshafts close to each other, which will provide you with a huge supply of ores, cave spider spawners, and string.

  • Seed Code: 6490327980339166064
  • Spawn Biome: Plains

13. Resourceful Island

In case you’re not looking for a challenging seed, but just one where you can acquire resources and live a normal Minecraft life, then you should check out this seed. You’ll spawn in a decently seized forest biome, which will provide oak and birch wood, as well as flowers and animals.

Though admittedly, there are not that many animals around, so you’ll need to think about breeding them as soon as possible. Luckily, a taiga biome nearby will provide you with a pretty bad, but easy-to-farm food source – sweet berries. Not only that, if you are a builder, you’ll definitely enjoy access to gorgeous spruce wood.

  • Seed Code: 7842898230505981990
  • Spawn Biome: Forest

14. Mushroom Island Surrounded by Ice Formations

This is not a typical survival island seed, but it’s really special. You spawn at the edge of a snowy landmass, with villages nearby on both editions. However, what’s exciting about this world is that there is a mushroom fields biome southwest of your spawn point that’s surrounded by a deep frozen ocean.

So, unlike a regular mushroom island, you will have to do some careful boat maneuvering to reach this destination. But when you do, you’ll realize that the view from the island is pretty magnificent with all the spikey ice formations around. Not only that, but this is quite a big mushroom island as well, perfect for a nice and secure mega base.

  • Seed Code: 2026978818627003846
  • Spawn Biome: Snowy Taiga
  • Mushroom Island Coordinates: X: -700 Z: 200

15. Lonely Island

The island in the last seed on our list is quite a lonely one. It’s a medium-sized island with three biomes – plains, forest, and beach. They will provide you with some basic resources, as well as food. Once you’re ready to travel across the ocean, you’ll realize that there is basically no land in a pretty big area surrounding the island.

The closest land biome you’ll find is ironically one of the rarest biomes in the game – mushroom fields. In addition, there are several other islands in this massive ocean including a small taiga biome island, which will give you spruce wood and sweet berries. This seed kind of mimics the skyblock map in the sense that you need to bridge out, or in this case row to a nearby island to obtain unique resources.

  • Seed Code: -6339184958441038703
  • Spawn Biome: Forest
  • Closest Mushroom Fields Biome Coordinates: X: -870 Z: -320
  • Taiga Island Coordinates: X: 200 Z: 800
