Gege Akutami’s new manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen 3 Modulo, takes the responsibility of carrying JJK’s legacy forward. Even though the author described it as a short-term sequel spin-off manga, the entire fandom is curious to see what the talented creator brings to the table now. Well, Jujutsu Kaisen’s story can’t be imagined without Yuji Itadori and Satoru Gojo, so it’s obvious that fans want to know if they are alive or dead in the JJK sequel.
Yuji Itadori and Satoru Gojo: Are They Alive in Jujutsu Kaisen Mojuro?
Yuji Itadori might be alive in the sequel story, but if you don’t remember, let me remind you that Satoru Gojo died in a brutal fashion in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shinjuku Showdown Arc. So, it’s unlikely to see Gojo return in Modulo. Sukuna uses Mahoraga to adapt to Gojo’s Infinity technique; following that, he cuts Gojo in half with the world-cutting slash attack. While there were several speculations on his return, JJK didn’t bring Gojo back, and fans were left disappointed. Well, Gojo also confirmed that he will never return, at least in the main storyline, with a funeral portrait of Gojo for the cover of Volume 26.
On the other hand, Gege didn’t shy away from traumatizing Yuji Itadori with the back-to-back deaths of his mentors and friends. However, he did surprise him by bringing back Nobara from the dead, but what about the other deaths that the poor boy witnessed? Well, in the end, Yuji became one of the key figures of the story after defeating Sukuna and freeing Megumi from his possession.
The final chapter sees him teaming up with Megumi and Nobara to tackle future cases involving curses. Now that Mojuro, the JJK sequel, has arrived, and it has not yet revealed anything about Yuji, we can’t say if he is dead or alive. The first chapter unleashes Maki and Yuta’s death, but let’s not think negatively until anything is confirmed about Yuji.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo features Yuta and Maki’s grandchildren in the lead roles, so even though Yuji is alive, he will not surely be a supporting character or a guiding force for the new generation. And if he is dead, there might be someone from his era alive who might reveal his story to the sorcerers of today’s era. So, we might get to see Yuji and Gojo in flashbacks.
