One of the popular exploration tools in Doom Eternal was cheats in the form of collectible floppy disks. After collecting them in the game, players could enable the respective cheats, like infinite health or ammo. So it’s only natural that when The Dark Ages came out, everyone wanted cheats here too. Are There Cheats in Doom The Dark Ages?
No, Doom The Dark Ages has no cheats. While the game comes with a developer console, we haven’t encountered any cheats. Furthermore, the game has no collectible cheat system either. The developers have not officially revealed why the fan-favorite mechanic isn’t in The Dark Ages, so there isn’t much to comment on. But even without the cheats, the other collectibles have received an increase in quantity in the Dark Ages.
Compared to Doom Eternal, Dark Ages has more collectible Toys and Codex Entries, and some gun skins can now be collected during exploration. Although that won’t be enough to satisfy old fans who miss the old cheats, I am sure the new mechanics will keep them entertained nonetheless. Among the new things, the Shield Saw is an outstanding addition to the game, changing combat and exploration in multiple positive ways.
Did Previous Doom Games Come with Cheats?
