The OnePlus 12 has been making rounds of the internet for quite some time now. However, the wait finally seems to be over as the OnePlus 12 launch date has been officially confirmed for this year itself. Moreover, there are certain speculations regarding the upcoming flagship being accompanied by the OnePlus Ace 3. Here are all the details.
After months of being in the rumor mill, the OnePlus 12 has finally been scheduled to launch on December 4 at 7PM CST in China. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis took to Weibo to announce this piece of information. Now, this falls in line with the leaks that did suggest a December launch. As for the global launch, you can expect it to be scheduled for somewhere around early 2024.
Moreover, as mentioned before, the OnePlus Ace 3 will most likely share the stage with OnePlus 12. However, in global markets, the OnePlus Ace 3 will land with the OnePlus 12R moniker. Thanks to the leaks and reports, we also have quite a bit of the OnePlus 12 specifications. Let’s take a look.
OnePlus 12 Expected Specifications
Earlier this year, the OnePlus 12’s camera specifications started making rounds of the internet. As per that leak, the device was said to feature a periscope lens in its camera setup. OnePlus confirmed this during the recent BOE conference and revealed that there will be a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera. Moreover, the brand has also confirmed that this periscope lens will feature the OmniVision OV64B sensor and bring up to 3X optical zoom to the table. In addition, the brand has also confirmed the presence of Sony’s LYT-808 as the primary sensor.
As per the detailed specs sheet leak, we also got to know that the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, it is not the first device to land with the flagship chipset. The Xiaomi 14 series took that crown last month itself. Moving on, this processor will be coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage on the OnePlus 12.
On the software front, the device is expected to run on the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 right out of the box. Meanwhile, in terms of display, you can expect to see the same 6.7-inch AMOLED 2K 120Hz LTPO display as on the OnePlus 11. However, it is not all the same. During the BOE conference, OnePlus also revealed that the OnePlus 12 will feature a new display technology called ProXDR. OnePlus is calling the new display an X1 Oriental Screen and it will be able to deliver a peak brightness of 2600 nits. Additionally, this display will also come with DisplayMate A+ rating.
Reports also suggest a 5000mAh battery fueling the OnePlus 12. This battery capacity will most likely be paired up with 150W fast charging support. In addition, the design of the OnePlus 12 was also leaked back in July 2023. As per these design renders, the OnePlus 12 is expected to arrive with a similar design to the OnePlus 11. We may get to see a glossy back alongside more color options to choose from. A recent camera design leak suggested that we will most likely get to see an “H” instead of the entire Hassleblad branding in the rear camera setup.
With the launch being around 2 weeks away, we will soon get to confirm all these details. There is no doubt that the OnePlus 12 is one of the most anticipated flagships of this year. Meanwhile, do let us know your thoughts on the OnePlus 12 in the comments below.
