10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2024

The year 2024 is right around the corner and if we look back at 2023, this year gave us some pretty exciting movies that you’d want to watch over and over again. However, keeping the past in the past, let us look forward to 2024 and what it has in store for us in the context of cinema. So, in this guide, find out about the top 10 most anticipated movies that are set to hit the screen in 2024!

1. Deadpool 3 (July 26)

Coming to your nearest theaters on July 26, Deadpool 3 is going to continue the tale of Deadpool, our beloved Merc with a mouth. Ryan Reynold will be reprising his role as Deadpool in this movie along with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine after a very long time.

This movie is going to make Deadpool a part of the broader MCU and bring back some of the most well-known characters from the X-Men Universe. So, it is pretty obvious that the entire fandom is looking out for Deadpool 3 pretty enthusiastically.

2. Joker: Folie à Deux (October 4)

After the chart-breaking success of Joker released in 2019, The Clown Prince of Crime is making a comeback with a sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux set to release on October 4, 2024. However, this movie seems to be doing something unique with itself.

Joker 2 is going to be a partial musical and to complement that, Lady Gaga has been cast in the role of Harley Quinn. We will get to see a brand new take on Joker (played by Joaquin Phoenix) and Harley Quinn in this movie, which in itself would be pretty exciting to witness.

3. Kung Fu Panda 4 (March 8)

After a long 8 years and several spin-offs later, Kung Fu Panda is coming to theaters with a brand new sequel. Titled Kung Fu Panda 4, this movie is set to release on March 8, 2024.

As revealed in the trailer, Po is going to face his most fearsome enemy this time around. However, there’s a twist. Chameleon is a villain who can shapeshift into every villain Po has ever faced. So it’s going to be fun watching him stand against his most fearsome enemies once again.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is also going to be the last movie to bring Po the Panda as the lead protagonist, bringing the franchise to an end.

4. Dune: Part Two (March 1)

Timothée Chalamet will be reprising his role as Paul Atreides for Dune: Part Two where he will embark on a journey seeking vengeance for the destruction of his family. We will also witness him trying to prevent a future where something terrible is bound to happen. Chalamet will be joined by actors like Dave Bautista, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya.

5. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (April 12)

In the previous movies featuring Kong and Godzilla, we have seen them as sworn enemies trying to kill each other. However, what if a threat greater than both of them threatens their existence?

In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, releasing on April 12, we will get to see the two monsters team up for the very first time, which might turn out to be pretty epic.

6. Garfield (May 24)

Orange cats have been known to be a nuisance for as long as I remember and the crown prince of orange-catness is none other than Garfield. Live-action movies and animated TV shows have been made around him for a long time, however, Garfield has been off the radar for quite some time.

On May 24, 2024, the famous orange cat is coming back to the big screen with The Garfield Movie with Chris Pratt playing the role of Garfield along with Samuel L. Jackson playing the role of his father.

7. The Fall Guy (May 3)

After the massive success of Barbie, Ryan Gosling is all set to come back to the big screen with The Fall Guy. Releasing on May 3, Gosling plays the role of stuntman Colt Seavers who is working on a film being directed by his ex-girlfriend, Jodey Moreno (played by Emily Blunt).

However, things go south pretty quickly when a co-star of the film goes missing and Colt sets off on a mission to find him.

8. Inside Out 2 (June 14)

After meeting emotions like Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, Inside Out 2 is coming out on June 14 with a new emotion called Anxiety. But that’s not the only one. Riley is now a teenager who is going through a series of complex emotions bringing in new feelings. Inside Out 2 is already one of the biggest trailer releases by Pixar and promises a quite successful run.

9. Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes (May 24)

Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes continues its story from the death of Caesar in War for The Planet of The Apes. This movie will be set in the future where several generations have passed since Caesar’s death, and Apes are the dominant species on the planet.

However, apes and humans live in harmony, but a new threat in the face of a tyrannical ape who wishes to wipe out humanity starts rising. Will our new hero be able to protect Apes and Humans alike? We will find out soon enough! This is one of my most anticipated movie titles for 2023.

10. Transformers One (July 19)

After a long-running saga of Transformers movies, Transformers One, releasing on September 13 next year will bring Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime in a brand new animated prequel to the series.

This film will revolve around the war on Cybertron and how Decepticons and Autobots formed their separate agendas. This animated flick will also feature the rise of Megatron and how he turned out to be Optimus Prime’s nemesis.
