After waiting for what felt like ages, GTA 6 pre-orders are live now across all platforms. Unexpectedly, Rockstar Games has launched only two GTA 6 editions for now: Standard and Ultimate, and a Collector’s Edition may still be announced closer to the game’s launch. Nevertheless, the current availability of GTA 6’s two editions has already left gamers facing a huge dilemma: should I get the GTA 6 Standard Edition or the Ultimate Edition? It is the only question running through everyone’s minds right now.

As someone who has been waiting for the next GTA game since it was announced a decade ago, I believe that getting the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is a no-brainer. Here is why you might also want to seriously consider getting the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition over the Standard edition.

Honestly, someone is definitely lying if they say that they aren’t counting down the days until they can finally play GTA 6 later this year. It is the most anticipated game in history until GTA 7 launches after another decade passes in the blink of an eye. When it comes to buying games I’ve been waiting with bated breath to play, I always opt for the Deluxe or Ultimate edition to get the ‘complete experience’ at launch.

Therefore, as someone who grew up playing every game in the GTA series, choosing the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is the easiest decision I’ve made. Rockstar Games is making me an offer I simply can’t refuse! And if you are a longtime fan of the iconic GTA series like me, chances are high that you will feel the same way. I completely agree that it has become quite an expensive habit for me over the years. But I can’t ignore the fact that collecting the Ultimate editions for my favorite games puts a smile on my face.

Aside from my personal preferences, if you take a look at GTA 6’s pricing, Rockstar isn’t implementing the predatory pricing strategy that is ruining AAA games. When the whole world believed that GTA 6 would definitely cost over $100, Rockstar Games chose to stick with $80 for the Standard Edition and a $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Now, when you compare this price with another AAA game, you will soon realize how getting the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is a sweet deal in modern times.

Take the latest WWE 2K26 title from 2K, for example. The Ultimate Edition of WWE 2K26, aka Monday Night War Edition, comes with a staggering $150 price tag, yet it continues to sell like hotcakes among loyal WWE fans. When you consider the fact that you can still get the exclusive wrestlers tied with the Monday Night War Edition for free via WWE Community Creations, it blows your mind.

GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Is Packed With Signature Bonus Content

There is no doubt that GTA 6 will rewrite history as the first AAAA level game. For those who disagree with this statement, I hope you are fans of Ubisoft’s iconic quadruple-A game, Skull and Bones. Thankfully, Rockstar doesn’t lock the extra story component of GTA 6 behind a paywall. The Ultimate Edition is all about customizations and accessories, which many of you GTA fans would like to have day one.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but Rockstar did lock five essential GTA 6 shops behind a paywall in addition to the customization and accessories. The GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is indeed designed to give Standard Edition users FOMO. When you take a look at the Ultimate Edition bonus content list, it becomes evident that it’s not a must-have for everyone. However, these exclusives are surely nice to have for hardcore GTA fans like me.

The Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers from the Vercetti Estate, ’95 Grotti Chett, and many more bonuses make the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition hard for devoted fans to pass up. The regional pricing of GTA 6 is the icing on the cake for many fans around the globe. In my case, I’m getting the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition for the price of the Standard Edition (in USD). In a nutshell, GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is certainly bang for your buck if you don’t mind spending the extra $20. Let us know which one of the GTA 6 editions you are pre-ordering in the comments below.
