1. Choose Your Crops Wisely

Now, move around your patch of land and spam your left mouse button on an area after equipping the seed to plant them. You want to pack as many crops as possible in every piece of land in the beginning, without caring about looks.

Next, similar to games like Fisch, Grow a Garden also has certain mutations in this game, including Gold, Rainbow, Wet, Shocked, Big, and the limited-time Choc mutation that arrived with the Easter event. These help multiply the sale value of your crops. That said, here is the list of mutations along with their price multiplier and ways to get them:
- Normal (1x): Any fruit that grows naturally
- Big (1x): Easier to obtain by using the Basic Sprinkler or Master Sprinkler
- Wet (2x): 50% chance to be applied to fruits when it’s raining.
- Choc (2x): Fruits receive this mutation when a chocolate sprinkler is placed near them
- Golden (20x): Fruits have a random 1/100 chance to be Golden
- Shocked (50x): Only when fruits are struck by lightning during a Thunderstorm
- Rainbow (50x): Fruits have a random 1/1000 chance to have this mutation
Among these, the best combination can be Wet Shocked or Wet Rainbow, which will increase the fruit value by 100x. Since getting mutations is a faster way to get rich, you can try planting lots of crops to maximize harvesting Golden and Rainbow fruits, or buy sprinklers from the Gear shop.
4. Look Out for Weather Events
Always remember that rainy weather is your best friend in Grow a Garden. If you’re lucky enough, you will get to experience a Thunderstorm, and you’d have hit the lottery.
So, there are three kinds of weather in the game — Sunny, Rain, and Thunderstorm. Here, Sunny is the most common and stays for the maximum overall duration. However, it doesn’t come with any mutations or boosts.
The rainy weather sees all your crops grow faster and have a 50% chance to grow a fruit with the Wet mutation (2x sale value). Finally, during a Thunderstorm, your crops can grow at a 50% faster rate, have a 50% chance to grow a fruit with Wet mutation, and get a Shocked mutation (50x sale value) if lightning hits them.
Also note that thunderstorm events can happen every 5-10 minutes, where the frequency with which lightning hits your fruits is 7 seconds. So, this is the moment when you need to be the most active in the game, collecting fruits, having them regrow, and selling them to maximize your profits. During the thunderstorms and rains, don’t waste time planting anything new. Simply hold the ‘E’ key near your farm, spam collect the harvest, sell them, and repeat the process.
5. Buying Gears Can Boost Growth
Grow a Garden lets you buy gears that can boost your plants’ growth rate, mutation chance, as well as size by multiple folds. Currently, there are 6 gears in the game, and you should buy them to make more money in the game.
- Watering Can: increases the plant growth speed and can be used on 10 crops
- Basic Sprinkler: increases the plant growth rate and fruit size, lasting for 10 minutes
- Advanced Sprinkler: increases the growth speed and chance for mutation, lasting for 5 minutes
- Godly Sprinkler: increases the growth rate, size of fruit, and mutation chance, lasting for 5 minutes
- Master Sprinkler: increases the plant growth speed, fruit size, and mutation chance, lasts for 10 minutes
- Chocolate Sprinkler: lasts for just a minute, however, it gives all plants in its range the Choc mutation
