  • The Kingdom Key in Fortnite features two attack types: basic melee slash and a powerful Magical Attack that unleashes lightning.

The Sora Kingdom Key weapon was added to Fortnite in update 42.20 as part of the collab with Kingdom Hearts. It is an adaptation of the Typhoon Blade and is the first weapon to be featured in-game from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. If you’re eager to know what it does, here’s how to get and use the Kingdom Key in Fortnite

Where to Find Kingdom Key Weapon in Fortnite?

You can find the Kingdom Key in Fortnite by searching loot chests as well as rare/relic chests found in Temple Vaults in Fortnite. Although it is not as rare as the 1-Up Token in Fortnite, it can be hard to come by since it comes in Epic and Mythic rarities.

If you have Gold Bars to spare, simply buy the Kingdom Key from Vending Machines for 750 Gold. This saves you time and effort. There are plenty found on the Chapter 7 Season 4 map in Fortnite. In the process of searching, you can also enter Cheat Codes in Fortnite to get Sprites.

There’s also a low chance that you may find the Kingdom Key in Fortnite as Floor Loot. If all else fails and you’re good at combat, you can challenge an opponent who has Sora’s Kingdom Key in Fortnite. Upon defeating them, you can pick up the weapon and use it as your own. Your opponent might even drop one of the new Sprites in Fortnite, which you can claim for yourself.

How to Use the Kingdom Key in Fortnite

The new Kingdom Key in Fortnite is a melee-based weapon that is similar to the Typhoon Blade. While it does have a ranged attack, we’d advise you to use it for close-quarters combat during a Fortnite Battle Royale match.

To use the Kingdom Key in Fortnite, you need to press the “Fire” button on your preferred input device (Left-click) to deliver a quick slash, which is its primary attack. It is rather quick and reliable, able to deliver enough damage to multiple opponents in a small area. You can also jump and use the primary attack to perform air-dashes and combos.

Much like the Mega Buster in Fortnite, the Kingdom Key has a powerful secondary attack called “Magical Attack”. You can perform it by holding down the ADS button on your input device (Right-click) and aiming towards your target. When you release the button, the Magical Attack fires powerful lightning strikes in a linear path, damaging everything in its path.

However, do keep in mind that the Kingdom Key’s Magical Attack has a 15-second cooldown after you use it. Furthermore, the weapon itself has a durability meter which, once it drops down to 0%, will break the weapon and it will disappear from your inventory. That said, let’s see how it compares to other powerful weapons present in the Fortnite loot pool.

Fortnite Kingdom Key Weapon Stats

Given how unique the Fortnite Kingdom Key is, the stats are very different from regular weapons, since it’s a melee blade. There seems to be no ‘headshot’ bonus when using melee attacks. That said, here’s what the weapon has to offer in terms of stats:

  • Primary Damage: 40
  • Spell Damage: 60
  • Air Dash: 35

Lastly, ‘Healing Orbs’ drop when opponents are eliminated using Sora’s Kingdom Key, allowing you to regenerate HP. Keep in mind the Kingdom Key is not the only powerful weapon in Fortnite. You can make use of Loot Hacks in Fortnite to get other powerful gear from chests.
