With the past updates in Grow a Garden, one thing is clear that the developers have been bringing some cool-looking pets that give new mutations. Now, in the Corrupted update, we have a new pet in the game known as Raiju. Well, this might not be directly related to the new event, but you surely won’t be able to resist buying this one due to its impressive trait that will ultimately help you make a profit. So, if you’re curious about the Raiju pet in Grow a Garden, check out how to unlock this pet and its passives below.
How to Get the New Raiju Pet in Grow a Garden
Raiju is a new divine pet available in the Zen shop of Grow a Garden. While it remains locked when you first jump into the game, you can easily unlock it by growing the Zen tree to level 7. If you don’t yet know how the Zen tree works, you might consider checking out our guide on Grow a Garden Zen Event guide. With that being said, here are the steps to get Raiju in the game:
- All you need to do is get some plants with the Tranquil mutation from your garden and bring them to Unk the Monk NPC.
- Now submit all those plants to the Monk, and you will see the progress bar on top of its head increase. Repeat this process until the Raiju pet is unlocked in the Zen shop beside.
- Talking about the Zen shop, it lies right next to the monk, which you can access by interacting with the brown raccoon.
- Buying items from this shop requires Chi, earned by submitting Tranquil mutated plants to this raccoon.
- So, once you have unlocked Raiju and have enough Chi Points, go ahead and purchase the pet. Alternatively, you can purchase Raiju instantly by spending 759 Robux.

Since Raiju is a Divine pet, its drop rate will be quite low as well. Therefore, you might be required to spend a lot of time waiting in the game server before the pet appears in stock. The reason for this long wait is that the Zen shop refreshes each hour when the new Zen Aura or Corrupted event occurs. So, if the pet doesn’t appear in stock, you are most likely required to wait for another hour.
However, there’s a workaround for this, and you can restock the items in the Zen shop by loosening your own coffers. Notice that there’s a yellow restock button on the top right of the Zen shop. Simply click on this to refresh the items in the shop, but the money required will keep on rising with each restock you do.

Should You Get the Raiju Pet in Grow a Garden?
Since you now know that Raiju is a divine pet, it will be quite tough to grab hold of this one due to the long refresh time. So, you must be prepared for a long gaming session in Grow a Garden before you finally get this pet in the game without using Robux. This brings up the question of whether it’s worth getting this pet?
Well, looking at the traits, it sounds like a good decision to buy Raiju with the Chi Points you have accumulated. The reason is that most of the other items in the Zen shop, except for the pet mutation shards are not that great. So, you will have enough chi to spend on this pet.
Moreover, it only takes you to check back the Zen shop stock every hour, which won’t take you more than a minute or two. So, the waiting part is not that hard, and you simply need Tranquil mutated plants to unlock the tree level and gather the required amount of Chi points. Both of them are easily doable, and therefore, it’s quite easy to get the Raiju pet as well.
If you would like to increase the value of all your Shocked mutated plants in the garden or get more of such plants as well, do make sure you have this pet.
