Elden Ring Nightreign is not a lore-heavy game like traditional Soulsborne titles. But that doesn’t stop it from having a quality story. In Nightreign, you can experience the story of each of the characters separately using their Remembrances. Progressing these Remembrances can be quite tricky, and they often give worthwhile rewards. To help you out, here is a complete guide on the Elden Ring Nightreign Remembrance mode.

What Is Remembrance Mode in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Remembrance mode allows players to experience each character’s story. Every character class in Elden Ring has an individual story, which can be experienced through the Journal in the Roundtable Hold. After completing specific requirements with a character, their Remembrance will become available in the Journal.

Once this happens, you can ‘Begin Remembrance’ from the Journal and experience the character’s story for that specific chapter. During their remembrance, you might be given an objective to fulfill to progress the Remembrance. This objective can range from acquiring certain items from Limveld to simply talking with someone in the Roundtable hold.

Some Remembrance objectives also require defeating specific Night Lords with that particular character. For example, Revenant’s very first objective is to defeat Gladius the Beast of Night, who is the first Night Lord you face in the game.

Now, to complete the Remembrance objectives, you must have the Remembrance mode active for that character. Multiple players cannot have their Remembrance active in one party, so make sure to communicate that with your friends when forming a party together.

How to Unlock/Progress Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign

Unlocking Remembrance for a character in Elden Ring Nightreign is very cryptic. In true FromSoftware way, there is no clear-cut instruction on how to do it. The most sure-shot way to unlock Remembrances for all characters we have found is simply using them to defeat Night Lords. Sometimes you need to defeat multiple Night Lords with a character to unlock their Remembrance, or other times defeating a specific Night Lord is enough.

Characters like Raider, Guardian, and Executor have been confirmed to require multiple Night Lord wins to unlock their Remembrances, while some have reported that simply playing with Duchess is enough for her. Still, if you are stuck on unlocking a character’s Remembrance, your best bet is to defeat a Night Lord with the character.

If it still doesn’t unlock, then try defeating another Night Lord. Keep doing this until it unlocks, which it will surely do if you continue defeating all Night Lords. Once you have a Remembrance quest for a character, you must complete it first in the Remembrance mode to progress to the next chapter.

Why Complete Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing the Remembrance of a character is vital if you want to learn their story. However, that is not its only use case. Finishing chapters of the character Remembrance will reward you with character-specific Relics. These Relics are generally very useful for that specific character, perfectly enhancing their Skill or Ultimate.

Other than that, completing the Remembrance also rewards with new Relic Vessels for the specific characters. These vessels have different colors and are generally more suited to that character than the ones you buy from the Small Jar Bazaar.

Another reward for completing the Remembrance of a character is the Remembrance skin. Every character in the game has a Remembrance skin called Garbs; some are extremely cool. But the main reason you need to complete Remembrance for your characters is to unlock secret endings. Now, not every character has a secret ending, but you must finish the Remembrance of those that do to access the secret ending.
