Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar Quest Guide

In Short
  • Drunken Boar is an NPC that can be found at the end of Fright Cliff in Chapter 2 in Black Myth Wukon.
  • Finishing the Drunken Boar quests unlocks the secret area Kingdom of Sahali.
  • The Kingdom of Sahali has two secret bosses, Tiger Vanguard and Fabum, which are both cool fights that you don't want to miss.

Black Myth Wukong is not a traditional Souls-like game. However, it is very similar in one aspect and that is cryptic questlines. There are multiple questlines in Black Myth Wukong which unlock multiple secret bosses. One such example is the Drunken Boar quest, a task that hides one of the best boss fights along with the Kingdom of Sahali secret area. If you have already found the Drunken Boar but don’t know how to progress his quest, then don’t worry as here is a complete Drunken Boar quest guide for Black Myth Wukong.

1. Find the Drunken Boar in Chapter 2

To start the Drunken Boar quest line, you first need to find the Drunken Boar in Chapter 2. The Drunken Boar can be found near the Rockrest Flat Shrine in Fright Cliff. You can reach this shrine by going straight ahead from the Squall Hideout Shrine. Once you reach this area, head straight from the Keepers Shrine, without turning left towards the Stone Vanguard boss room.

Keep going straight until you reach an open area with the Drunken Boar sitting in the middle. Interact with the Drunken Boar and he will ask you to help him sober up.

2. Get Sobering Stone

Next, you need to find a Sobering Stone and bring it to the Drunken Boar. There are two places you can find a Sobering Stone in Chapter 2:

  • Windrest Bridge in Yellow Wind Formation: Start at the Windrest Bridge Keepers Shrine, the area after Crouching Tiger Temple, and continue moving forward past enemies and head left from the path end. Head up the stairs on the right side at the end of the path and again head left to find a glowing urn in a small room. Break the urn to get the Sobering Stone.

  • Man-in-Stone: You can also purchase the Sobering Stone from Man-in-Stone, but you will need to finish his quest line first by defeating Mother in Stone boss. After that, you will have to fight the Man-in-Stone, and defeating him will make him into a merchant. You will now be able to buy the Sobering Stone from him for 6480 Will.

After you have obtained the Sobering Stone, give it to the Drunken Boar in the same location as earlier. Now, the Drunken Boar will tell you that he is hungry and wants meat from Crouching Tiger Temple.

3. Find Drunken Boar in Crouching Tiger Temple

After the Drunken Boar tells you that he is hungry, he will move to the Crouching Tiger Temple. Head to the Tiger Temple Shrine and instead of going into the Tiger Vanguard boss fight, which unlocks the parry skill, head to the right to find the Drunken Boar sitting with his back against the wall. Speak with him again and this time he will ask you for a Jade Lotus.

4. Give Jade Lotus to the Drunken Boar

The Jade Lotus is one of the harvestable plants in Black Myth Wukong and you can find them plenty in Chapter 1 around the bodies of water. First, interact with the Boar to check if you already have the Jade Lotus or not.

If you don’t then, Fast Travel to the Village Entrance Shrine and head backwards up the stairs, and take the left path. Continue this path until you reach the body of water. Head to the right, over the water until you find the Jade Lotus.

Give the Jade Lotus to the Drunken Boar and it will tell you about a secret area Kingdom of Sahali and reward you with a coin.

5. Defeat Yellow-Robed Squire

Next, you will have to go back to the area where you first met the Drunken Boar. After you reach the area, a new cut scene will begin and you must fight and defeat the Yellow-Robed Squire boss. After you defeat the boss, he will ask you to follow him to the Kingdom of Sahali. You will also get the Snout Mask headgear as a reward for defeating the Yellow-Robed Squire.

Head up to the closed door and interact with it to enter the secret area, Kingdom of Sahali, which I think takes place in the past.

6. Kingdom of Sahali

In the Kingdom of Sahali, you will be able to fight two secret bosses — Tiger Vanguard (a different version) and Fuban. The Fuban fight in particular is quite a spectacle and one of my favorite fights in the game.

You will fight Fuban alongside the Yellow Wind sage of the past, and without spoiling much, it’s pretty damn cool. Defeating Fuban will take you back to the first Drunken Boar location and end the quest. The Tiger Vanguard 2 fight rewards players with Tiger Tally curio, and the Fuban fight rewards the Wind Tamer vessel and a Sky-Piercing Horn weapon material.

And that’s how you finish the Drunken Boat quest in Black Myth Wukong. If you have any questions related to this quest, ask us in the comment section and we will try to help you out.
