- All four iPhone 14 models will not receive Apple Intelligence features with the rollout of the iOS 18 update.
- The reason for Apple Intelligence not reaching iPhone 14 models is the insufficient RAM and older chipset onboard.
- Apple Intelligence requires a minimum of 8 GB RAM, which is only available in the iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, and the new iPhone 16 series.
The much-awaited iPhone 16 series is here, and it boasts a bunch of new Apple Intelligence features that you will be able to use pretty soon. So, if you can’t make up your mind whether to upgrade or to stick with your old and trusty iPhone 14, hoping these AI-powered features will come to your device as well, then I have some news for you. We answer whether the iPhone 14 models will get the Apple Intelligence features or not in this guide.
Will iPhone 14 Get Apple Intelligence Features?
The answer is no. None of the iPhone 14 models will get Apple Intelligence features. This includes the base iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Don’t be disheartened by this news as Apple is restricting its AI features to select models. Even on the iPhone 15 series, only the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models get Apple Intelligence due to the most latest A-series chip.
The reason for this omission is the lesser amount of RAM and older A-series chipset in the entire iPhone 14 lineup. Apple Intelligence requires more RAM to perform the computational tasks, which take place on the device. These are resource-intensive operations, so at least a minimum of 8 GB RAM is required to run the AI tasks hand-in-hand with other processes on your iPhone without compromising on the overall experience.
Which iPhones Support Apple Intelligence?
As mentioned above, Apple Intelligence requires a minimum of 8 GB of RAM, so it will only arrive on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models with the iOS 18 update. Along with these two models, all the new iPhone 16 models that have just launched will support these AI features, including the new Siri, Writing tools, Notification summary, and more. Apple Intelligence is a massive upgrade but not to the extent that it will make your current iPhone redundant. There’s still a lot to look into with iOS 18, such as new home screen customizations, app lock, and control center changes.
