Section Editor

The ideal candidate for this position has a deep knowledge of each company’s presence in the consumer technology space.

Section Editor needs to lead from the front. They need to keep an eye on recent tech events and accordingly update the important articles in a timely manner. Also, they need to identify trends and past performances of the articles and create new content on the basis of that. It’s an independent position so they decide where to dedicate resources, and what events we should cover. For major events, you’ll need to plan coverage months in advance.

Applicants for this position must have a broad base of knowledge in mobile and consumer tech. While you might prefer Android to iOS, vice versa, you should be deeply familiar with all key products that make up the mobile beat: Smartphones, tablets, wearables, and all of the associated carriers, services, apps, and software that work with them.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in an editorial position, focusing on consumer tech; history in long-form articles is a plus
• Excellent writing and editing skills; able to write in a style that is interesting
  to the core audience
• In-depth knowledge of on-page SEO, interlinking, etc
• Communication and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate and provide
  feedback effectively to others
• Experience working with web content management systems (WordPress
  preferred)
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

• Edit and publish articles along with fact-checking, source-checking,
  attribution, along with Editor
• Identify trends and top-performing articles to shape future editorial efforts
• Hire and train new writers with an eye and ear to quality, speed, and voice
• Regularly updating the important articles with meaningful additions
• Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the consumer tech industry.
• Standardize reviews, listicles, how-tos  with repeatable benchmarks,
  procedures, etc
• Maintain relationships with key companies to ensure timely coverage
• Provide constructive, forward-looking input to help shape Beebom’s editorial
  standards
