Traits are special buffs you can apply to claws and sifters in Roblox Shells. They improve your efficiency while collecting shells, increase your chances of finding rare drops, and boost stats like luck and digging speed. In this guide, you will learn about every trait in Shells, what each one does, and how to roll them.
Shells Traits List and What They Do
Before we jump into the traits list or the explainer on how to roll them, we suggest you grab all the Shells codes. These will provide valuable resources needed for the trait reroll. As there are two types of rolls, we have also shared the normal and lucky drop rates for each trait in Shells in the table below:

How to Roll Traits in Shells
As we mentioned before, there are two types of trait rolls in the game. You can either use pearls for normal rolls or use clovers for the lucky rolls. There is also a pity meter that does not change anything. It is all based on your normal or lucky drop rates.
Pearl Trait Rerolls
For normal trait rolls, you must collect pearls. The pearls are obtainable through quests, leveling up, and codes. If you are attending admin events in Shells, special chests give you random pearl drops. You can also go to the in-game shop and purchase pearls by using Robux. Once you have pearls, follow the steps below to roll traits in Shells:
- Press 2 or click on the equipment bag button from your hotbar.
- Click the sparkling stars icon beside the claw you want to roll traits for.
- Click the pink x100 button to spend 100 pearls and roll a trait once.
Lucky Trait Rerolls
Lucky rerolls have higher drop rates for better traits in Shells. Unlike pearls, lucky rerolls are only obtainable through special quests, events, or codes. You can also spend a lot of Robux to get limited lucky rolls. With that said, here is how you can use the lucky rerolls and get better traits in the game:
- Open your equipment bag by clicking the button from the hotbar or pressing 2.
- Click the sparkling stars icon beside the claw you want to roll traits for.
- Click the green x1 button to spend 1 lucky roll and roll a trait once.
And that ends the complete list of Shells traits, along with the steps to change them in the game. Which traits are you using? Let us know in the comments.
The best trait depends on your farming style, but Transcendent, Celestial, and Rake are the strongest overall traits because they provide huge stat boosts or extra shell collection benefits.
Yes. Lucky rerolls give noticeably better odds for rare traits compared to normal pearl rerolls. Traits like Celestial, Transcendent, Rake, and All or Nothing have much higher drop rates when using lucky rolls, making them the best option if you are chasing endgame traits.
